Hi, there. Hoping this is the right forum for the question, but apologies in advance if it isn't. I'm working on a hack of Streets of Rage 2 and am hoping to replace the title screen. I have the offset for the title screen, the offset for the Plane B sprite map, offset for the palette, and my new title screen and sprite map sitting in expanded rom with original code repointing to them. Happy to share all of this with you. When I run the game, the tiles don't make it to VRAM and the game seems to crash at the operation at $30D0. I think this may be a general decompression routine for backgrounds, as NOPing or jumping over it seems to remove backgrounds from the first stage. I feel like I'm missing a step where I need code to both bypass the decompression routine and force the new title screen tiles into VRAM, perhaps at VRAM address $0200? Wondering if anyone could provide some guidance on what my next step needs to be? If there's a piece of code I need, any thoughts on what it is?
