Have you ever completed S&K?

I played it without Sonic 3, and beat it as Sonic and Knuckles both, of cource I prefer having Sonic 3 with it, it just compleats the game that way.

Yeah. But Sandopolis is where I usually end my game since I get bored with it after a while. =P

 

I got S&K when it came out, but I didn't even own S3 till a few years later. So yeah, I beat the game many, many time.

 

Yes, yes I've played Sonic and Knuckles without Sonic 3 and defeated it with both Sonic and Knuckles, mostly because I didn't get Sonic 3 one Christmas and then another Christmas I got Sonic and Knuckles, and then later bought Sonic 3 from a pawn shop. I just get a tad irked that you don't have the save feature on Sonic and Knuckles unless you either have it hooked to Sonic 3 or you're playing it in an emulator.

 

Nope. Before I got S3&K locked-on in an emulator, I was playing S&K alone on RealArcade (which absolutely sucked, but hey), and I could never get past Sandopolis Act 2 because I never realized you had to jump from one sandslide to the other in part of it. Oh well, I guess I'm no worse than those of you who never realized how to get past the barrel in Carnival Night!

 

Yeah ditto. I had Sonic & Knuckles long before I got Sonic 3. But I couldn't get past the above mentioned trap.

 

I've completed S3 and S&K as the two seperate games, but I never had the patience to then go through the whole 2-in-1 thing..

 

Yes, quite a bit. Although, when I was a kid, I completed S3K before it. Nowadys, when I go to S3K, I sometimes decide to shorten the game, and play through S3 or S&K in their standalone forms instead.

 

Many times, when I was a wee lad. All I had was Sonic 2 and Sonic & Knuckles at that time. Then I got Sonic 3. Then I found out about the "ubar game" you could create. Then I figured out how to get through Carnival Night Act 2.

Much "zomg" occured.

 

Yeah, I did as both Sonic and Knuckles. But as the others said, not much point in playing it alone when you can lock on with S3.

 

I think I only beat it alone a few times... I never had much interest in S&K alone, to be honest, since it really didn't have many redeeming qualities without the other half of the game.

 

I finished it with Knuckles. Got all emeralds and went down to my last life.

I never owned Sonic 3 at least in a physical cartridge form. I would always rent it like every other week, always getting stuck on CNZ Act 2 and getting quite frustrated. Then a few years later I got a Sega Saturn and Sonic Jam, and that's when I first got to enjoy Sonic & Kunckles and Sonic 3 w/S&K.

 

I've completed S&K without losing a life.
