    Well, everytime I download a hack game I put it into my genesis emulator but all I get is a strange black screen can anyone help me.

    You downloaded an .IPS file, I assume, since 99% of hacks are distributed in IPS form. You'll need either an emulator that support IPS patching, or an external patcher that creates a patched ROM image. I believe GSRHS does that.
