This is a project I never got around to completing, but want to share now regardless. This was an attempt at porting Green Hill Zone... to the Sonic CD '93 engine. No smokes and mirrors involved, a true-to-life port including converting to new formats and recreating the object coding to adhere to CD's standards, complete with the authentic Sonic 1 physics and speed cap. Unfortunately, a combination of school work and getting stuck on some of the bigger objects (CD handles collision very differently from the other games) meant I never finished it. Still, with the source code just sitting on by Google Drive, I felt it's best to release it in case anyone else wants to screw around with it. DOWNLOAD HERE (too big for Retro Forums) Some things to note: I am unsure if this works at all on real hardware (I don't have a Sega CD, nor a flash cart that can run Sega CD games alone). Based on the unfinished Sonic CD disassembly by Devon. Placeholder files exist for Labyrinth, Marble, Star Light, Spring Yard, Scrap Brain, and the Ending. This is purely so the game doesn't crash early on. Building is only supported for a USA ROM, although I'd imagine it isn't that difficult to get EUR or JAP ROMs building as well. The introduction FMV is Rockman X3 Japan lol.
