I went with "appearance". The result:

Crackin' DJ Part 2 Super Live

And great news: it actually pre-dates the concept of [H.]. So yes, same people, but they weren't credited as a band.

And then it gets really confusing because on Sega's website(s) Hiroshi Kawaguchi is being credited as "Hiro Shishou" (Hiro師匠). Which means in order to be super accurate, we'd have to find out how he was introduced on stage.

As well as music they also apparently played the game live, and there was a t-shirt competition. So you can see how this might get complicated.

That was also me, actually. Just being indecisive. I wasn't sure if this'd be a Joe Montana situation (where there's enough history to eventually justify a page). Relevant enough, this ties back into the lesson Black Squirrel taught me about this: does a topic need its own page? It might seem obvious but its easy to get carried away when you're neck-deep in articles :P

I think in Arnold Palmer's case, there's so little connecting him to the world of Sega, that we're better of just pointing to Wikipedia.

But some of these people have a more interesting story. Joe Montana was a pseudo-spokesperson for Sega of America, so there's a little more to talk about there.

  4. That one's a good template to figure things out with since there's multiple updates on the game's website covering the event, and all sorts of gaming news articles that they link for extra detail. Also it's summarized on the H. section of the Hitmaker Sound Page, so we know what was retroactively notable about it from the band's perspective.
Plus the event's relatively short and diverse so there's not a ton of things to adjust if we go in a different direction.

It makes sense to document the Set list (list of songs played in order) for the event since those are pretty often outlined for music shows, maybe ahead of time or on the website. Set list of CDJ2 Super Live.
How in-depth with those makes sense to go? I guess the simplest is just to reuse the tracklist template:

It's in. The shit is in.
Got sent these all the way back in November after a delay on Sik's end (ctr001 was the one who sent me these).
Unfortunately, if there are more documents, I would not know where to find them.

A few years ago a Tec Toy employee sent to SEGA-BRASIL wiki staff an internal list of release dates of all their products.

I never took the time to check item by item for curiosities but since the first time I looked, I noticed a lot of the itens were never released and the dates not always reflected the actual date of the release, some dates seems to refer to rereleases and others are scheduled dates but with no corresponding products released, it would demand a crosscheck with publications of the time.

Anyway looking at it again, another thing caught my attention. There are a lot of provisional names/working titles and while I was able to recognize a couple like Twisted Flipper = Crue Ball and MC Kids = Global Gladiators, there are a lot of other provisional names that I can't correlate with an actual release.

I think it is an interesting thing for research purposes, maybe could lead to some cancelled games or protypes, here are some names from the list and the list can be seen here: https://www.sega-brasil.com.br/Tectoy/Lista_de_Produtos_TecToy

    Mega Drive/Genesis

    Metal Morphis (1992)
    Bug Wars (1992)
    Furry Friends (1992)
    T.A.D (1992)
    Rivit (1992)
    Monster Hunter (1993)
    Socks the Cat (1994)

    Master System

TIN TIN OF THE MOON (1992) - checked now and is an unreleased game
The Godfather (1992) - checked now and is an unreleased game
Red Mobile (1993) - (maybe a rad mobile port?)
Robin Hood (1992) - checked now and is an unreleased game

    Game Gear

    Action X (1992)

    And a lot more..

I know that for some people the relationship between SEGA and TEC TOY was minor or not seen as well regarded, just a footnote on SEGA history, but while the market was smaller than the other regions it was a close relationship with SEGA of Japan and TEC TOY tried to bring all the cool stuff, even the Teradrive and the VR Glasses for the MD was trademarked here.

So ASG Technologies were pimping this supposedly unreleased peripheral on their website. They were targeting retailers to use it as a demo unit, so I guess it's possible a small number shipped, but possiibly not too. That page was last modified 1995-05-09 as of 1996-02-15. Perhaps more interesting is the undocumented (?) InfraRad, which would've saved you the trouble of getting up from your couch to use your Video Jukebox by placing it on a coffee table next to your couch. Alternatively just put the Video Jukebox on the coffee table instead ...

Edit: I forgot to mention, it also keeps your children safe from television radiation.

Thank you for all this info! I noticed you signed up for a Sega Retro account. WELCOME TO THE WIKI!

You should contribute to our TecToy page. I have a feeling your perspective would be VERY beneficial ;) Ask me if you have any technical/formatting/wiki questions.

Here's how events played out - I looked up the first performance of [H.] at Tokyo Joypolis, noticed it didn't technically feature [H.], then spent x days trying to work out the history of Tokyo Joypolis to find out what the "Multi Stage" was.

Then I jumped ahead and found the actual first performance of [H.] at Tokyo Joypolis:

Sega Moba Presents Tsuyoshi Kaneko With Guest "Live@Life"

This really is impenetrable. Sega Moba is barely documented, Tsuyoshi Kaneko is (I think) a freelance musician that works with Sega, and [H.] was only one of the guests. And this took place on the "J-Stage"... which is probably the same thing as the Multi Stage above, except at this point in history, the room was managed by someone else: J-Pop Cafe Odaiba (which by the way was quite the work of art).

This was an effort to promote Tsuyoshi Kaneko's first album, "Life", which is also mostly undocumented. And has a track performed by [H.]. And which Sega sold special copies online through Dreamcast Direct.

I don't remember if there is a tournament specific topic, but Sega announced a Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. tournament circuit at some point complete with trailer. It's first appearance on said circuit was at "Frosty Faustings XVII". This happened on the 26th I assume since it was a pre-release tournament and I believe I heard them say it was coming out tomorrow (today).

    Trailer:

There were also ones made by Marty Chinn who had a video game mail order store called "Video Source". I think he first started ar WCES 1994 too (he also mentioned seeing videos from SCES 1993, but those may have just been from acquaintances rather than commercial videos).

I had made screenshots of most of the DLC and uploaded them late last year. Have you gone through them in the meantime? I'd like some motivation to take the rest. :)

  14. So hey, as I've mentioned previously I've been watching old pro wrestling stuff starting with 1995 for awhile now. For the week ending on 1995-06-03, Sega sponsored the WWF weekly shows. This is not normally notable; I usually just kind of tune out the "This week's show is brought to you by" bit the announcers do right after the show intro. For both Raw and Superstars for the week in question, they said "This week's show is brought to you by Sega! Makers of Genesis, Color Game Gear, Sega CD, and the fastest, coolest video games ever!"

There's the usual obviously fake enthusiasm of all of the other ad reads, but that "Color Game Gear" caught my attention. I vaguely remember the fact the Game Gear wasn't in black and white as a selling point, but did they refer to is as "Color Game Gear" in other advertising? Did they do anything similar in other markets? Our wiki page doesn't note anything about this, so it's possible that it was just used for the ad reads for these sponsorships.

Edit: I had accidentally posted this in the wrong thread; I thought I had closed the other tab before I started typing but that was clearly not the case. Thank you to whomever moved my reply to the correct thread!

Anyone with a scanner happy to take some games off my hands for scanning? You'd need to receive a delivery and go through the tedious task of scanning all inserts and every page of the manuals.

This looks like the kind of thing I'd cobble when I was 15 when 2000's aesthetic nostalgia was in its infancy. What hurts me though are the dead image links on both websites... At least the .swf files are intact
