How is Hill Top Zone going?

 

Has any work been made towards art for zones other than Hill Top Zone, Chemical Plant and Emerald Hill Zone? Or are they still open to concept art?

 

Not done yet, but it's coming along.

The only zones that have solid work behind them are Emerald Hill and Hill Top, so everything else is open.

 

Awesome, good to hear. Is it on track for inclusion in the alpha?

 

Sorry for popping in here, not reading any posts, but: what happened to the other topics all being locked now? Was the project canceled?

 

I remember you saying that there will be a release in first quarter of the year.
It's March 25 today

 

I recall that Canned Karma revealed that due to bugs and stuff, it wont be out in March.

I think his post got deleted. Whoops. Yeah... never mind.

 

That would be announced if so, surely.

Why would it be deleted? It's right there (just above the aforementioned posts) on page 66.

Another month, another round of me letting everyone know that S2HD isn't cancelled. Of the reasons I said why we won't be having a Q1 release, only one of them still remaining: problems with coding. We've got two people cranking away at that.

I won't make any guarantees that Hill Top will be in the alpha. We'd like it to be, but with the difficulties we've been seeing just with EHZ we're just taking things one problem at a time.

I locked the other threads because only the general thread was getting any sort of activity; my offer to open up the concept one again still stands should a handful of people express interest in it.

 

You're not reminding everyone. Only one person asked.

Okay, I hope things work out with Hill Top for you. If not, no problem! I hope we'll get to see some of the art at some stage regardless though .

 

Yeah, Hill Top really isn't a priority to see. Even if it is a glorified palette swap of EHZ. It'll be glorious just to see EHZ working. Hell that would make a good S2HD for me.

 

Just because one person asked doesn't mean he's not reminding everyone. One person asked, but now everyone is reminded.

I do agree, though, that I would be thrilled to get to see some HTZ stuff soon-ish!

Hill Top really interests me. The last time we saw it, it basically was just a palette swap. I'm sure it's come some way since then. I'd love to see what the artists have come up with to give it it's own sense of character.

 

It'd also be nice to have the odd blog post not informing about a changelog.

And yes, I'm sure the lava will be awesome. It would be really epic if they made some sort of artistically sound fluid system like this for the lava, then it could spill out of that door when it opens in HTZ, but I guess I'm dreaming. Just an Idea though...

I, too, am insanely interested in the progress of HTZ. EHZ is great and all - but I am SO ready for some new, never-before-seen assets

 

Ermm... sorry I don't see everyone whining about the project being cancelled :S. Nor do I see them asking month after month.
