    I look at it this way. Who's to say that HTZ is a rip off from EHZ, it could have been the other way around. Just because EHZ is the first level doesn't mean anything. I mean how would everyone feel like if the tiles were changed for EHZ because of HTZ? It would just look wrong.

    You are going to have to show us what you vision exactly. Get a bittorrent and get your stuff for free if the price puts you off from some software. I love the current art but I look forward to what you have in mind. please show the detail your after with a still picture as I'm yet to be amazed.

    I'd say add small details to EHZ that would add more feeling and life to the landscape, and change HTZ altogether, as HTZ is a pile of shit. Always has been, always will be.

    Yes, well the tech demo is kinda fugly. I know I don't have the exact same scene recreated, but it's enough to get the idea.

    Still looks pretty unimpressive, despite youtube's poor picture quality.

    Y'know, come to think of it, why am I bothering to battle to get it looking better than it is when I'll never have chance to play it?

    actually, Gambit is telling you the truth, A LOT changed, and EHZ is not just the foreground stage, we got new badniks, new backgrounds, new objects, and better sprites for sonic and co...

    You guys will need to wait for that awesome Alpha anyways :v:

    Actually, the shading is somewhat like the shading I did to the badniks... In a simplier way I think, but its the same shading style ^^U But for sonic...dunno...It could look cool, But I don't know if Vinc will reshade ALL the Sonic sprites now =P

    Yeah, I know a lot has changed, but the level art is my area and most of the stuff you mentioned hasn't been unveiled yet, so I can't show it off even if I wanted too.

    When you guys were looking at the black outline and complaining about it, I think it was likely because it was too thick of an outline. I say try making it much thinner(as in probably 1-3 pixels for it) and then see how it looks.

    Also, I just wanna ask this: Have you guys ever considered trying to do something like a loading room? What I mean is, a room where you use Sonic to go to the file you wish to load up, and then start from there. and as for saving and loading, I think you could make it so that you could save your game in the zone you're in and start at the beginning of that zone when you load up your file.

    and since I know people will use the "Peopl will just save at the Death Egg Zone again and again until they can easily beat the bosses without a problem" line, how about making it so the last zone ya can save at is Metropolis Zone? That way, people can't simply have a free ride to Death Egg Zone; they'll still have about 3 zones(the one they're in, Sky Chase Zone and Wing Fortress Zone) to go before they can even reach it.

    I just hope my ideas are ok, since I wanna help this game turn out to be as awesome as possible.

    In the mock up that I posted awhile back with the outlines all of mine were 1 pixel outlines.

    As for a loading room, I think that's a nifty idea. I believe the file system in Super Mario Sunshine is about what you're suggesting, and I like it. Now, as for saving things. I actually don't know if that will even be possible. Well, it will be possible, but I'm not sure if it's planned. Also, we could just totally make the last boss an asshole if we wanted so people would almost have to save there and keep trying over and over. :P

    Or just leave the last boss as is and make a super-hard optional boss accessible from the save room.

    I like the idea. The super-hard boss could be accessible if you don't lose a life and get all the emeralds without failing a special stage. Kinda like getting to Night Terror in Soul Calibur III. If the above criteria is met, you could enter a different area of the Death Egg Zone for a super hard Metal Sonic and Robotnik.

    Don't you just love Easter Eggs.


    Or we could just ask Nova to do a master edition with secret alternative levels and get use screaming at our PC's every 5 seconds. That's a thought. Any reason Nova didn't edit the rest of the levels? He did a really good job even though the levels are an arse.

    Yeah I noticed, and I think it looks pretty cool.

    Both at the same time in the big room, perhaps? That way Mecha will have enough time to show all of his attacks, at last...

    Nah that would just come under "cheap SNK boss" style. It becomes more about luck than skill when its like that.

    See, I was going to take you seriously, but that just cheapens the deal. Had you been able to make an argument without the language, I wouldn't disregard everything you just said and call you a cunt.

    My point still stands. Is there any point in making a super-hard version for the vague minority who go "yeah it was great and all but I just didn't fall foul of enough demonic programming tricks"? Go and play Sonic 2 Harder Levels if you want that.

    Looks like you didn't read what I typed; I won't be able to run it, as I'm on obsolete hardware, and I'm certainly not going to go out and get a new MacBook in a hurry.

    Anyway, I ain't battling to get this project looking better now. Like I said before, I don't see the point if I'm not going to be able to run it on my hardware.
