More 8-bit fun.
And finally the fruits of our endeavors rebuilding Egg Garden have come to bloom:
No demo yet, doing other background stuff like menus/the zone's boss and such first.
Just more stuff being slowly worked on.
Starting to feel a little more confident about the direction of this
Been rewatching the Lego films and was inspired to make a Sonic game with that sense of humour. Very early days but the idea is a Sonic inspired platformer starring the Chao, probably playing more like a Mario game but with some Sonic set pieces.

Unrelated, and not my project, but I just saw this and it looks lovely. About time someone tackled this project:
I had started something similar when I was getting burnt out on SC2, and I am so glad I decided to not move forward. I did not want to double efforts. This looks good. Only gripe would be the sprite choice.
Such a rough vid. I'll have to improve my capture next time. The collision editor on the black actually has a grid behind it

This looks like a damn fine engine. It not only looks like it gets classic elements right it also has boost gameplay and basically all the wisps and elemental shields. I really hope this goes somewhere or becomes like the next Sonic Worlds
It's in Game Maker Studio, but it is entirely my own built engine within that. So it's not using any readily available GM Sonic engine.

With this all and the sprites you posted on the art topic, I'm starting to hate you for being good at so many things I'd like to do. You seem extremely efficient too, making so much quality work in a quite short time span. And you also work on S2HD. It's time to say it again: "Sega should hire this guy!". Hope it works like it did with Mania Team..
