Those look remarkably similar to palettes I did a long time ago. Though to be fair, it's hard to edit s3's palettes and have them still look good. There's not that many options unless you want to go with something rather surreal.
Needless to say, I liek.

Looks good. Now all that's left is something to put custom midi files into the game. Do you think you can work that out too? Hint: refer to the thread in the tech lounge about the compression format.

 

I think I would have to know something about MIDIs first. I don't think so. I'm not a wizard.

I've run into a problem. I don't know how large the Special Stage is, or which values mean what. I can find the data, but I don't know how to read it.
The code on the left is what happens when you hit the button now.

 

The Special Stage is 32x32 tiles big. No idea how they're stored though, although they seem to be 1032 bytes long (32x32 bytes for the data and 8 bytes for the header). I may be wrong in that one though, but I'm sure about the map size :P

 

Special Stage map starts at 08FFF100. 32x32 bytes. 0 is nothing, 1 is red sphere, 2 is blue sphere, 3 is star sphere, 4 is ring, 5 is yellow sphere, 6-9 are collection sparkles.
Now I can make the first RAM Special Stage editor.
