It is technically 'hardened', but I decided to slow the animation down rather than stop it outright, for visual effect.
This is from a project I'm working on, essentially a "30th (maybe 31st) anniversary edition" of Sonic 1. Won't be revealing the zone's name, although it is after Labyrinth Zone and a water level.

Hardcore gameplay, leaderboards, eastereggs, minigames and much more. The new and updated version of Sonic 3 Epilogue will be available in the Sonic Hacking Contest! In the new demo version of Hellfire Saga, Sonic not only goes through the updated zones compared to the previous version, but also the capital of hell, where Death himself rules - Sin City, a zone containing new enemies, new levels and mechanics! The new demo version will be available at Sonic Hacking Contest 2021, and the full version will be released later this year!
So, a lot of people have been asking how those fancy looking 8-bit modes in Sonic 1 Blastless were achieved. Well, it's quite simple, really. You just open a top secret configuration menu, tune some audio and video settings, then some wizardry happens and voi-la! (Just kidding, it took several years to implement) Anyways, allow me to present to you, Sonic 1 Blastless DX! A Deluxe edition of Sonic 1 Blastless were you can build your own "Blastless" modes with a plenty of available video and audio settings, as well as some pre-configured presets. Stay tuned for Sonic 1 Blastless DX release, available on SHC'21 from October 11!
