General Project Screenshot/Video Thread

That's pretty much my intention, yeah. To make the level as official-feeling as possible. My plan is to pick levels that aren't necessarily well-liked (a-la Labyrinth Zone) and make them fun to play by giving them original level design and toning down the things that held them back in the original.

Sonic Mania: The Misfits Pack or something

 

I love that your putting so much effort into recreating Labyrinth Zone for Sonic Mania. A lot of people may dismiss it as a terrible level, but I've always loved it. Between this and the Star Light Zone mod, I'm seriously considering buying Mania for PC just to play it :3

This is what I wanted out of Mania. Making good levels great is one thing, but re-imagining disliked levels with improved design is even better. (Plus this is one of the two stages I wasted redone most in Mania. The other being Toxic Caves)

 

Ok, that looks pretty good. Color me intrigued.

 

The good level mods don't stop coming. Nice work so far!

What's exciting about where Mania modding is heading is that the sheer number of gimmicks and enemy types means there will be no shortage of interesting combinations, both for recreating official zones and for creating original ones.

Holy fuck that looks gorgeous. I really love that art style as well. It ALMOST doesn't look like it could be a simple ROM hack.

Hey, Omega. THIS is the kind of thing you should work toward before releasing your screenshots. It doesn't have to be a blowaway art style... just give us something we haven't seen before.

I'm looking at some twisted style cartoon version of Sonic 1...? And I like it!

Colour used on Sonic is quite nice, not seen much like that.

I recommend you should just do your own thing, rather than taking inspiration from someone else's work. If you want to make something people will love, be creative and do something no one has ever done before.
