The Contest is coming...
Maybe you'll get to try the beta special zone.
The old background was getting kind of boring, so I decided to spice it up a little bit:
Very much an improvement. I see shades of Scrap Brain and Underground Zone in there?
Marble, Launch Base, Scrap Brain, and Collision Chaos Bad Future.
A quick attempt to disable the time counter using BizHawk led to an hour of reverse engineering.
The object system is quite neatly organized and dynamic.
Watch in 720p
(I'm sorry for the stretched aspect. That's the only way I found to make my video run at 60fps)
That's the best background I've seen so far for my SPZ tiles, and actually kinda the direction I've imagined it!
If you have any use for something from my unfinished attempt, go ahead and start puzzling />
The video has to be in HD, but it doesn't need stretched. Burning some pillarboxing (black bars on the sides) into the video would allow the proper aspect ratio while still creating a video that YouTube sees as HD60.
I put my rabbit in Sonic 1, because I felt like it.
Sprites coming whenever.
Wow this is really impressive!
Ooh, is that a Metroidvania? Art isn't really worth sneezing about, but I'm definitely interested in what kind of game design you might have in store.
While you guys were yelling at those bad hacks I put in the contest, I was being sneaky...
Of course this is still a very work in progress hack which I just started, so most of the stuff might be changed later. Also, yes I know about the shading problems.
The less bizarre thing.
The fully bizarre thing.
Yeah it is, progress is kinda slow at the moment because I've been working away from home a bunch lately though
Super impressive stuff, very much looking forward to it.
Oooh now that would have made a good hacking contest entry. I'm looking forward to seeing more come of this
Now that the contest is over, let's start getting back to work.
Note: all of this was done myself in only 2 days. The foreground was done in Paint.NET, with the bac kground being entirely done in SonLVL. To add to that, I had to put this on Scrap Brain Zone, since the original GHZ is already taken. I based the BG off of the Sonic 1 Tokyo Toy Show beta, btw.
Hope to see you with a demo next month!~
Have Sega go "Damn dag nabit damnit"
I hacked the Sega screen in Virtua Racing to make it load the "A" models for all 4 letters.
The "SEGA" in the background gets displayed once the letters form together, so that's why that's there.
Separate names with a comma.
