What level is that? Because I thought Wild Canyon was this.
Looks cool though, almost makes me think of the canyon from the Heroes intro.

well since this is still a W.I.P. type of this going on still, Just wondering what you all think of this title screen.
Suggestions? I feel that there is something missing or something that can be changed a bit.
use the darker skin colour to give sonic's mouth a bit of definition. At the moment it looks more like a white mark on this face, than a mouth hole.
I'd like it better like this.

Why thank you XD I sure hope it hasn't. The VERY bottom route at a later part of the act has a little gap to boost and jump across (not big if you're going at a decent speed) for experimentation for an object, but other than that perhaps I try not to put in dick moves. Yes I think you have XD Unfortunately I don't have any others done, as this (and a Sonic 2 layout change) I feel are the only ones I've tried that actually worked well enough, as before every other try had way too many loops...taking things slowly as I've only just finished college but I HOPE to have more soon.
Just a little something I've been working on for my hack. It's a little overworld sort of thingie letting you access levels you've beat or started, as well as resume your previous game.
The HUD also cycles through messages:

Looks good though; what plane is it on, out of curiosity, or is it all sprites?
I just had the port lying around from a previous hack which never used it so I might as well.
As for the HUD — it's on the window plane, which seemed like a good enough idea to apply here. Instead of holding the entire charset in VRAM, I have a buffer in work RAM of the characters needed to display, and I DMA that buffer when the message updates.
