General Project Screenshot/Video Thread

Tool would be nice. It took me for fucking ever to get the scrolling working for the BG I put in one of my levels for SSD.

 

Like I told Selbi in MSN, it's a brilliant idea! I would love to see this sort tool made very much.
It'll be very helpful for people who don't really know how deformation works all to well. (Myself included sort of. :P)

 

Anybody can throw a quick image together and claim he's working on a program. However, I felt like an actual in-program screenshot would work better:



To be honest, this image is in some ways a mockup as well, because I was mainly trying to get that preview screen to work (which is not a mockup, by the way), but the actual idea has been programmed and I'm anticipating to release the first version of this program within the next week.

Special thanks to MainMemory for providing a DLL, which made working with Bitmaps MUCH easier and also much faster. =)

 

Looks great, though just to save screen space wouldn't be best to put the "Generate Code" button at the bottom (On the left hand side) where the "Copy to Clipboard" button is?

The program itself makes such a complicated task simple! Absolutely top notch, well done, can't wait to have a go of this thing!

 

Is there a way to preview the speed in the program?

 

There will be as I already have an idea how to do it. But this will be, once again, for another release.

 

I love this so much Selbi! any chance that you can import your own custom sprites into it?

 

After a year and almost another half of doing jack-shit, I have started working on SSD more seriously.

I was thinking to myself "what haven't I seen in a hack that I think would be pretty neat?"
This is the answer:







Basically, you will be able to choose from 3 different objects that can pop out from enemies, including an option to not load anything.
The options are: Flower (SCD-like) , Ring (Sonic Advance 3-like), Animal (classic game-like), None.

Why yes, that's the entire point of this program: Creating deformation based on custom background art. =P

 

The flowers object I have made will load different art depending on the level, I have chosen to work with this one for TTZ:



The top right is the original from Sonic CD, with the colors changed to fit the levels original palette.
The top left and bottom left are slight edits.

What I want to know what is better, top left or bottom left? Or should I make a routine that spawns a random one?

 

Bottom left looks better being a nice cool blue, but having them generated randomly would be equally cool.

Haha, there's a very nice promo video! I've also seen some fantastic level layout and art stuff. This is being really great, but to be honest, Super Sonic basically don't call my attntion that much, but coming from Psy we can definitely expect the best.

 

Rain, nice! And a bouncy fountain for good measure. Tails being able to fly while spinning off a ramp is new, right?

 

That's not a bouncy fountain, he used a double jump move.
