    Are you going to do anything about the face? It still ends looks like Sonic in drag. Even though Sonia has always looked like Sonic in drag, but still.

    That's actually a hard subject to tackle. I've received that complaint before, and quite honestly, I don't know what to do about it. The problem is, according to all official specs, Sonia, design wise, literally IS Sonic with a female body, a severed top quill, and an added coif. I don't really know how to make the extensive changes people ask for while still retaining both the original appearance of the character AND sticking to an official looking style.

    My guides are as follows:

    The goal is to make Sonia fit the Japan spec without destroying the original design. After eliminating the neck, making the limbs all noodly, give him a lighter than Sonic's muzzle color, making the quills 3D, and doing it all by only replacing Sonic's blues and muzzle color (a literal limit of 4 shades of color to use). I don't know if there's anything else I can possibly do. There is always making the eye shape match Amy's, but then that creates the problem of it not looking like Sonia :/

    She looks even more like Sonic in drag now. You removed the smirk she had which was one of the things that helped her look different from the original sprite. The shade you added to the eye will also be a problem if Aquatic is planning to do a Super transformation.

    Only reason I'm trying with the eye color is because something about the pure black eyes of Sonic 1 and 2 doesn't fit quite well

    Same idea as before but I decided to go the route of Tails' eyes in Sonic 3 if you wanted pure black eyes. This might not follow the exact palette though

    Getting the motivation to continue old projects
    I think that's absolutely fucking amazing. Absolutely love the detail and colour scheme of those bricks, the background is simple, yet awesome looking. Also love the use of that Marble Zone pillar thing with the Special Stage fish, it makes a really sweet looking statue. May I ask which game this is a hack of?

    I like it, although there is one thing I would change.
    Normally when I make level art for a design that doesn't have grass I still come up with something different to have for Sonic to walk on, might be a new style of brick or something completely different. Not only does this add some variety to the level but it also allows you to add a shadow below it which provides a bit of depth.

    Hey, isn't this Great Gate Zone?

    Yeah, I think it looks nice. I agree with Matwek, though -- maybe you could remove a few brick clusters to make the brick pattern look more varied.

    The floor should be a different type of tile other than recolored bricks that already exist. Variation in size, shape, condition (like some bricks older than others), etc. would be good. Maybe add some (er, remove) missing brick holes. :)

    Although these are simple edits, I think it's great that you are experimenting and understanding how it works. I will say though, I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the non-showing shield, what you could do is maybe have an icon present at the bottom of the screen to show the user that they have the shield. Marine looks like a cool character replacement of Tails, and the waving is cute =)

    I noticed a few days ago my post count was reaching 1000, while I don't particularly care about the post counter (Infact I'm slightly curious why this information is needed), I had the sudden urge to want to post something on the 1000th, unfortunately, nearly everything I've done has all been for other people's projects and I can't show any of them. The only thing I had was progress on my Megadive game, so I'll show that insted:

    Holy shit Markey! This looks great. I love the boss theme, it sounds great. I love how you have the Markey on the title screen, but he is centered and not moving, and you manage to do the animation and illusion that he is by using the background and other parts.

    I want to get my hands on this now... *runs*

    I didn't want to reveal stuff I haven't done yet, but here is the plan:

    Marine will get three shields right off the bat. However, rings will not have a effect on her...making it a hit point system ala Ristar or Rocket Knight Adventures. Having a shield graphic all the time might be annoying to some. To know how many shields you have, I was going to port my hud system from Flicky Turncoat DX.

    Would I count as an idea stealer if I actually did that? The original reason why I put Sonic up there was because the foreground-background stuff for the emblem was not working anymore. But I could try that of course.
