    I think that his hands look a bit weird, perhaps they would look better if his pinky fingers were stretched instead of bent in that odd angle?

    I think the shine on each eye should be on the left edge or the right edge, but both shouldn't be facing each other.
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    I dissagree. In theory, yes. But it looks better like that. I wouldnt wan't it changed.

    Could you maybe try to lengthen Sonic's fingers a bit? They look too stubby and sausage-like there, and I never really imagined his death pose showing them angled upward, more angled forward slightly.

    I say the original uses more angled fingers. He's like grasping for what is left of life, hehe.

    And to another excellent Vincent sprite:
    <!--quoteo(post=320155:date=Jun 16 2009, 05:10 PM:name=Vincent)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Vincent @ Jun 16 2009, 05:10 PM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=320155">[IMG]</a></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->[IMG][IMG]<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    This is quite sexy! I wish I had had more success in the past to draw Sonic front view (see my Sonic 1 time run hack, lol). I think this one is the best I have seen even when it doesn't include the bottom head spikes (which aren't supposed to show anyway indicated by the original sprite). BEST!

    If you meant this:

    [IMG]

    I agree.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Yeah, me too. I think the original sprite just used those lighter pixels as a form of anti-aliasing, and not to make the shines in his pupils face at opposite directions.

    Looks like the pupils could be a little smaller, by the way. But it looks great.

    A few suggestions (in rough decreasing order of importance from desirable to anally pedantic).. I think that:
    - Sonic's glove could do with better / more realistic crease details on his palm
    - Sonic's fingers look a bit stubby, they could be made slightly longer relative to Sonic's large palm
    - the tip of Sonic's right foot (our left) is too fat and rounded
    - the right side of Sonic's face (the skin-toned area) should be slightly less wide than the left given Sonic's face angle
    - the stripe on Sonic's feet should be closer to the same width (I think it looks weird even on the original sprite)
    - the shine on Sonic's pupils should be to the top-left for both eyes (as others have mentioned)
    - the top of the spike coming from Sonic's back should be curvier?
    - Sonic's mouth could be very slightly shorter or wider to make it look rounder and less like a column
    - the curve of skin to the left of Sonic's nose seems a bit too steep

    I think getting this image very well done is relatively important since this image appears static without any other frames around it so any flaws may be more noticeable than in, for example, the "half way to crouching down" - frame.

    Only refers to EGGman:

    Which one boys?

    (Suggestions, especially visual ones, are welcome!)

  9. I assume he's supposed to be focused and angry there, yes? I'd like to see how it looks when it's just slightly more prominent, but it seems like a good idea.

    I think the standard one looks just fine, personally.

    I have to agree with Tweaker on this.

    (Wow, 8 words I never thought I'd say.)

    they are very close but I'll go with the expression test as to me you can see more detail due to the darker, sharper shading.

  13. I guess this is a simple thing that can be tested when we have context. I'm perfectly happy with the original if that is what looks best in-game.

    For me, Eggman must be left like the original, so standard.

    Yes, focused and agry. The guy before him disposed ALL of his machines!

    A more prominent version test like you've asked:

    Nah I don't like the angry/focused look. The regular look will do just fine I think.

    I had to go into GIMP and put the pictures on different layers then switch back and forth between them to see the difference.

    EDIT: In the future, let's try to post animated PNGs to compare between two versions of something.

    The standard version looks fine enough to me.
