I think the shadow needs to be lighter, personally. It stands out too much and as a results attracts attention toward it compared to everything else.
Just make it 60% transparent That way, the peeps who want a shadow are happy And the people who hate the shadow are not so bothered by it

Please do this.

I'd say ditch the shadow, none of the other frames have anything like it. Instead, put more shading into the actual mouth. I'm pretty sure that's what's missing and what's making it look flat.
Vincent, I'd say screw it and just move on to the next frame. Get the frames done at least and then go back and fix them
Work could pile up like that, I mean it might be best to get them done and dusted first time round: unless we need alot of roughs to test the engine. (when there is one)
...Guys, once this project sees its first version it's unlikely that the same amount of people will keep polishing it, so I suggest to please not stop anybody to keep noting any stuff that can be improved even sligthly. That's how we've been working since the beginning and the results not only look quite good so far, but they're not as slow as anybody would have expected. If you want some quick works, think that many people might prefer quality over that. I don't think this is a project that should be rushed. Regarding the "hit" frame, I personally think the arms looked better in the first version... and there's something with the eyes and mouth, still not sure what. I'll see if I can do something tomorrow, or perhaps this weekend.

Also, the animation seems jumpy—Sonic's head, and as a result most of his body appears to move, when in the original animation it did not. This makes it look a bit poorly done, leaving much room for improvement.
