Everything look really "squiggly" like you did it entirely free hand.
Actually, I did. I could always redo it using a vector program, if that's what the standard is going to be for this project.
Yeah, vector is pretty much the standard. It's not required, but VERY much preferred. Making simple shapes like your Silver Sonic is much easier anyways. <!--quoteo(post=191374:date=Apr 27 2008, 11:16 PM:name=Qjimbo)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Qjimbo @ Apr 27 2008, 11:16 PM)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure not even Vincent's art is vector. The way I see it, as long as we do everything at 4x, there isn't a huge issue with using raster art.
Well the reason I said it is because it just looks weird is because what it's trying to represent shiny metal. It having a blocky gradient isn't a design choice, it's a limitation of the palette.
Alright guys, sorry for leaving you hanging with my Knuckles sprite. I've made a buttload of little changes to it, but due to being busy from moving to a different place, as well as computer problems, I wasn't able to finish it just yet. If I can manage to move my files from my old computer to my new one tomorrow, then I'll finish it up and post it. Also, about the feet thing, if some people would prefer them to be more flat, then I'll make an alternate version. Just let me know.

The purple outline is still present around the round shine, the other outline was just made as thin as to serve as an antialias for the brighter color, but it would look better if it was a real inbetween color (instead of a darker purple shade). I mean, a brighter part can't have a dark outline... I thought it was just common sense, am I really the only one who thinks this?
No, I agree completely on this. If it just used a better transition it would be excellent. Right now it's a tad jarring.
Left one: NEW Right one: OLD -With a different shade for those sposts. -And a slightly different shape That's just an experiment.
Hoyl shit how did I miss this topic? Awesome work Vincent. Although personally I liked the older one. I thought the contrast made that shine look better. Just for shits and giggles could you make that guy without that one white spot on his head on with his S1 palette just to see how it looks?
Ok I decided to tutorial the new easy frame. It's still incomplete in shades due to the writing of new tutorial which I will explain later on Vincent's HD method Tutorial
