Nope, because things actually seemed pretty calm at the time.
This is just an unfortunate case of the few ruining it for the many. I haven't been a member for long, but the whole reason I did join is because the people here are generally more intelligent than those on, say, the Sega forums. I agree with Scarred Sun that this whole Sonic 4 clusterfuck seems to have brought out the worst of us, though. Most of us just minded our own, but the trolls moved right on in. I just hope that we can move past this debacle.
Emphasis on seemed. You haven;t seen the behind-the-scenes shit. There was a reason the second Shark Week has had no expiry date.
What the heck is Shark Week?
I'm so out of the loop.
If I hadn't seen the behind-the-scenes shit, then I doubt a lot of people have.
I don't remember this at all. Mind elaborating?
I do have a question. Why not lock down the Sonic 4 thread when things got out of hand? I mean, it looks like it got out of hand rather quickly. No thread=no morons, right? Then again, I suppose that they'd just vent their nerd rage on other threads.
Edit: Are you guys going to leave the wiki as is? I still use it for research from time to time.
Best way to describe it is just to point to it.
Just when things were getting good, too.
Agreed. The moment this forum was reaching is traffic peak, I thought I felt right at home here. Too bad.
So, SEGA Retro. Neat.
You mean that Sonic CD beta over at ASSEMblergames? Nothing came out of it [yet].
EDIT: Holy hell. It's like as if Paul McCarthy just got shot today.
maybe hes tlking bout my sonic1 betaa? I am still wiling to dump it bet I need a lot of monie fist.
Personally, this doesn't bother me. The sonic focus of the site really limited the amount I could really do for it. Now that it is general sega stuff, I can do TONS for the wiki, while improving Sonic Retro-Cult as well.
Everything you wanted to know about SEGA! Except their most recognizable franchise.
One way or another I'll be interested to see how this pans out.
A series of events caused by the latest Sega Sonic title caused mass chaos amongst the forums.
It didn't stay in its own topic though. The idiocy of the topic started to spread to other parts of the forums.
In a last ditch effort to save Retro, the Admins stripped it of its Sonic title.
See this is what would seem most reasonable to me, since to public eye this was where all the shit was happening.
Aw, I was looking in the Sonic 2 HD forum when you guys closed it off. :<
So who wants to make a computerized "Retro" to go along with the "Sega" sound we're all familiar with?
Sega Retro... I like it.
Whoa. SEGA Retro? Hmmm.... okay.
I'm actually somewhat shocked that one single thread revolving around Sonic 4 has caused all of this. I don't know what's happened behind the scenes, but I'll guess it has a significant part to do with this change. (Not trying to say that in a mean way. Sorry if that last sentence comes off as sounding hasty.)
So, SEGA Retro it is. I totally understand the lock down and whatnot, too. Things were getting rapidly stupid and arguments swiftly becoming heated and retarded.
Anyway, I'm curious to see where this goes.
What's funny is that even once this donkey show is over, SS still made it dreadfully apparent how much she hates you all. That wasn't part of the joke!
Never mind that, though. I'm prepared for this. Bring on the Sega.
