I have a Linux eee901 that I installed Easy Peasy on - great little machine. Used it when I was up in Coventry for a week, and with the exception of slowing down when loading multiple tabs I didn't have a single problem with it.
It's not really just the fact that they're cheap though that's secondar, especially with some of the newer pricier models(though IMO they should still be cheap). They're super duper portable and the newer ones have ridiculously long battery life if you optimise them up, and very very good even if you don't.
If you tweaked it up a bit, disasbled usb ports etc. you could get more like 7 or 8. Though I guess that's really only a 20% increase.
Oh yeah, I believe that. I do use the USB on occasion though and they'd have to be disabled from BIOS - and I'm too lazy to keep doing this. =P Still, at least it's not the eee900. That lost the charge on the battery within a week, even if the system was turned OFF. Stupid Pentium hardware flaw. Atom = <3
I have one, apparently the thing was designed for taking it everywhere :P The thing is way too small... The one I have can use a max of 800x600 resolution. And it is NOT comfortable if you are to do something for a long while.. it kinda compress your eyes xD It's not that slow,as long it uses AC power xD, if it doesn't, it's reaaally slow, Gens goes slow xD.Though it's battery is pretty nice, you can really take it to somewhere and have it turned on like 6 hours :A Its touchpad is... ... the one I'm using right now is really nice if I were to compare it with EEE's xD
