A look at some of the other pages from this period with a comparison to the Wayback machine's archive. Manx TT PC game page Last Bronx Spotlight House of the Dead spotlight PC Demos
A couple of years ago this hit my YouTube subscriptions: The idea being "let's build a time machine!" I had no intention of building one myself, but there was a feature I was vaguely interested in - it's built around the Wayback machine, but supposedly there's more of a "tolerance" on images, so you're more likely to see "complete" websites. I'm not overly sure what that means in practice (whether it'll load the wrong images in certain cases) but I was curious to see if it made for a better browsing experience. Not curious enough to actually test it myself mind you, but there might be a trick to plug some gaps.
Cool device, but increasing the date tolerance won't help too much in this case as the images were never archived, at least not at the same URL. There is some limited potential to rehost and fill in some missing images from mirrors (slagoon.com, segapc.com) and where the images were archived at different URLs*. There's always hope of finding another mirror or archived pages on a random CD-ROM though. *In the case of Manx TT shown above the boxart and screenshots were archived on it's Spotlight page, although that's more the exception.
I don't know, but links are here; https://web.archive.org/web/19970630062505/http://www.sega.com/multimedia/game_demos/ https://web.archive.org/web/19990220011904/http://www.sega.com/multimedia/game_demos/ I can probably find alternative links if any are dead. Obtained a CD with the offline Lycos search for May 1996 (they were released monthly by Frontier Technologies), although the file is dated 1996-04-19 and most of the abstracts are from Feb-Mar. They seem to have cut down on the excerpts, with keywords getting priority.
