1. I always thought balloons.

It's the physics that always confused me. :v:

I always thought they were balloons. I never understood how they could inflate and deflate by their own, though.

This. And I never put much thought into it after I came to that conclusion.

You know, as far as gimmicks go, Carnival Night Zone certainly had some of the lamest.

Lame, maybe, but it has to take the title for most infamous. ;)

MIDI-to-SMPS-conversions, mostly. Takin' requests, too.
I still don't see any balloons in that construct myself, to be honest… or anything else discernible.

The sound effect it uses sure doesn't sound like a balloon. :psyduck:

Gentlemen, I believe we have a dilemma on our hands. Maybe it is just a really fucked up balloon.

Hell, this is a 15[?] year old game... what you gonna do. :v:

Its a pressurised sensitive rubberized helium composite, with a negative recurring boyancy factor of +1. at a stable altitude it holds its own weight, but upon a contact sencitive height reduction it trys to regain its previous height, but with no focal point of refernce other than Sonic, it flushed too much helium and gains too much altitude while mistaking him so a stable object when he is infact asending.

I always thought it was some kind of cloth draped over a platform, the effect it gives off always seemed more cloth like than balloons to me.
Actually, I don't think any explanation anyone can think of for this object is going to make the slightest bit of sense at all. Do any of the objects in this stage make sense?

Where does it get the helium from? It can't have a limitless supply.

always thought it seemed more like popcorn that you'd pop on an oven. but again, there's no heat and it doesn't make sense. it looks like a bag that puffs up.

Does much of this series make sense?

20. If they WERE balloons, why is it that when you stand on it it falls, if you jump the 'things' get bigger, and then disappear as if you didn't touch it? I always thought it was some kind of fucked up cherry mutant thing..
