*Bump* Well, I can't edit my last post, so I'm double posting! I had a beta version of my next Gens Version, oh, about 2-3 weeks ago, that I wasn't going to release, but now I will, because I've lost my computer, for who knows how long. In this release, the config works. Also, there are new dumps as well as the ability to import certain parts of the genesis...and as most people wouldn't understand what I just wrote (I didn't...), you'll just have to download it to see. ALSO: Wonderful news on the development of this emulator, an Interactive Debugger IS coming together. There is code right now in the beta for the debugger as well as layer disabling, but, sorry, I've disabled it. As soon as I can get my computer working again, I can finally finish my work! Download DebuGens Beta 2 Oh, and also with this, is my old, unfinished, biggest piece of working shit, a PVM Extractor. I pulled apart the PVM file format and wrote this crappy VB program. Heres my review: You can dump the files from that rom and you can import the files that you dump into any genesis roms and play. This also works for the sounds too. :D Look what I did to Sonic & Knuckles with Sonic 2 title screen dump:
Alright, my next question will sound incredibly turd-ish, but I never knew what it was. What is the purpose of dumping roms?

Some pirates released the ROMs on the Internet, someone wrote an emulator to play those ROMs on a computer, and the emulation scene was born.
I almost considered not putting it in the emulator. However, I figured that some people still had 56K, and just in case they only had a .smd rom, they could just dump out the binary as they play. I dunno, it's kinda useful.
