So I thought it would be a good idea to keep track of de-listed SEGA games (with dates where applicable) for documentation purposes across the digital space. If you can help on dates and things then please do so. Xbox Live Arcade After Burner Climax (Decemeber 2014. The 17th?) Golden Axe (2012, sometime before or during May?; de-listed due to Golden Axe Vintage Collection) Outrun Online Arcade (January 2012; de-listed due to expiring contracts with Ferrari) SEGA Rally Online Arcade (October or November 2012) Streets of Rage 2 (2012, sometime before or during May?; de-listed due to Streets of Rage Vintage Collection) Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) (October 30, 2015; Japan Only) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (October 30, 2015; Japan Only) The Cave (March 2018) Games on Demand (Xbox 360) Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) (Unknown at this point when taken off) Playstation Network After Burner Climax (Decemeber 2014. The 17th? Apparently still on European stores) Outrun Online Arcade (October 2010; de-listed due to expiring contracts with Ferrari) Phanatsy Star Portable 2 (January 2012?) SEGA Rally Online Arcade (Fall 2012? Summer 2013?) The Cave (March 2018) Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception (January 2021) Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth (January 2021) Steam Alien: Colonial Marines (December 2014. The 31st? De-listed due to licensing most likely) Alien vs. Predator (December 2014. The 31st? De-listed due to licensing most likely) Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm (2011) OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast (Late 2009/Early 2010?; Most likely due to expiring contracts with Ferrari) Virtua Tennis 4 (April 23, 2015) Virtual Console (Wii) Sonic 1 (SMS) (March 30th, 2012; Japan only) Sonic 1 (MD) (March 30th, 2012; Japan only) Sonic 2 (MD) (March 30th, 2012; Japan only) Sonic & Knuckles (MD) (March 30th, 2012; Japan only) iOS Devices Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (February 2010) ----- Original Post: Spoiler So I just found out that Golden Axe and Streets of Rage 2 have been de-listed off of Xbox Live Arcade. This makes sense since the Vintage Collections have come out (plus the old ones are Backbone ports) for Live Arcade but does anyone know when they were taken off exactly? I've checked on my PS3 and the Backbone versions of these two games are still up. I guess I should really get cracking on that last achievement I need in Streets of Rage 2 (Which I just did! :D )...
anyone down to help with the multiplayer on both these titles? message me, gamertag: mrmidas2k and I'll let you know when my internet is not shit/I'm available. I need online co-op in both, and need to beat 10 matches in SOR2 battle. An help is welcomed. messahe me and say where you saw this so I know who you are and we'll sort summat out. cheers.
Probably because Sega hasn't released the new Vintage Collection versions on the PS3 yet. Sucks too since I would love to hear that SoR2 Menu theme blasting out of my TV speakers.
I'll help you. Just got my last achievement in SOR2 as well. SEGA was supposed to release all the titles individuality on PSN and they even release Revenge of Shinobi, that's why I went to PSN. Streets of Rage 1 and 3 aren't even up there. I do wonder if they will ever replace them...
Yeah, I know that. I picked the individual titles up on PSN for the 6 M2 Ports that are up currently. Chances are they'll delist the current Streets 2 when they put up the M2 Streets ports. Same goes for Golden Axe.
So I just found out that SEGA Rally Online Arcade has been de-listed from Xbox LIVE Arcade either at the end of October or during November. I do not know the reason for it. For the time being the game is still on the Playstation Network.
Probably some kind of licensing issue similar to OutRun Online Arcade. At least I got to play this one before it disappeared this time.
The Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm one is completely out of left field compared tot he rest of that list. Is there an explanation for that?
My guess for the SEGA Rally Online Arcade thing, might just be due to lack of purchases... ...plays similar and feels mostly the same as the original boxed release version on 360/PS3. I bought both. Also the whole point is the online thing, now I don't have gold membership for my live account at the moment, but when I did I could never get a game... ...again suggests a lack of people playing it. Shame really.
Several PSP titles are no longer available on PSN. Phantasy Star Portable 2 has not been available on the US store since around January of this year. (Rough estimate) I wanted to buy it when the Vita came out, only to find out it was gone. The first one isn't there either, but I'm not sure if they ever sold that one on PSN. Can't confirm any others because PSP2 is the only one I know for sure because I was planning to buy it.
A few Sonic games were pulled from the Japanese Virtual Console (I.e. the Wii one) on 30th March 2012: Sonic 1 (SMS) Sonic 1 (MD) Sonic 2 (MD) Sonic & Knuckles (MD) I forget why this was. Sonic 3, 3D and Spinball weren't touched
Lack of purchases really isn't a good reason for putting it offline. It's also still up on PSN and is even priced off at the moment. If you've bought it you can still download the game by going through your download history, same with everything else removed from XBLA, PSN and Steam.
Wow. It lasted less than a week? I put it as February 2010 because I'm going assume it lasted at least 5 days.
Not strictly a Sega game but also the Master System version of R-Type was also removed from both the JP and US Virtual Consoles (not sure about others) though I'm sure this is due to Irem's financial problems...
It's already there in the OP... :p Oh, I know. I got the SEGA Rally game with that PS+ sale a while back. I never bought OutRun when it was available is what I was saying, I wasn't very clear.
You should probably add OutRun 2006 on Steam to the list; I mean, sure, it's been off for QUITE a while but still probably good to keep track of these things.
