Is every level playable to some extent, or are some missing completely? I'd love to check out Lost World as that seems to have changed a little - the unveiling video posted recently showed it with flaming arrows in a, now tame, segment. I can only assume this is a slightly later build than the one showcased though, as objects like rockets and switches have entirely different designs in the video (which I seem to recall aren't present in this autodemo).
The problem is, some levels (including Lost World unfortunately) completely crash the emulator before they even load up. The only levels we've been able to do so far are Emerald Coast, Red Mountain, Final Egg, Ice Cap and the Chao garden. This is just as Sonic mind you, we've not tried the other characters yet.
Do you have any leads as to why those stages are crashing? Is it looking for resources you can transplant from the final version? EDIT: You're actually playing on the DC, right? Never mind my suggestion then :P
We're not playing it on the actual DC, we're running it on an emulator and using Cheat Engine to swap values around. We're really not sure why some levels are crashing though, to be honest. The emulator just keeps seizing up and closing itself.
Interesting. One last question, has there been any indication that Red Mountain Act 1 and Windy Valley Act 1 may be somehow related? Some of that beta footage looks very similar to Red Mountain.
If you get the air ruins garden loaded up, can you get some screen shots of where the gap is? I'd like to know if that's really suppose to be there.
Red Mountain act 1 seems quite close to the final, but I've been unable to complete it because the camera craps out really badly when you hit a certain spring (like, the camera literally goes inside Sonic's model and makes it impossible to see anything; and if it doesn't do that it wildly spins around and makes the controls feel inverted). We're gonna put up videos of absolutely everything we manage to get working, as well as save states (hopefully tonight) We're just tackling Sonic at the minute, but we'll see what we can do with the others later on tonight or tomorrow.

Weird, I'm literally currently uploading two vids showing this, the other of which is a untextured broken Chao Race (2C75160E to 40 in CheatEngine) :specialed: Amy's totally broken, she can't do anything without crashing the game lol.
Jase posted a video a few days ago of reaching the Beta "At Dawn" with the hole in the actual level. The test level is something entirely different.
^This. Thank you so so much. I've been trying to find the "unlock controls" thing primarily this whole time and you found it! I was beginning to try and trick the game into thinking it's in Chao World all the time so it would allow controls, but you saved me the hassle of attempting that! :v: Oh by the way, I think you may have added the 2C751608 address as "4 Bytes" rather than "Byte". That really large number, 327684, is basically just 4 I believe.. But yeah, I've come to the conclusion that 4 means "Play normally" and 11 is "Play demo" and other things like "10" is next demo iirc. Entering "12" gives the beta Pause menu that someone found the texture for earlier! But yeah, thankkkkkk youuuu :v:
I found another test level! It has tests for scripted paths and things. Video coming soon. No idea why it's white other than the obvious missing textures. If I could view it in wireframe I would, but demul doesn't have an option for that. Edit: Oh, and for those interested in checking it out, it's stage 0.
Yeah I realize that, but test levels are just conglomerations of things that will most likely eventually be put into real levels.

Is there a way to skip the CGI intro? I can't seem to make a save state on the titlescreen, so whenever the emu crashes I gotta wait through the whole thing again. You can imagine how enraging this gets
This is some really awesome stuff. Hopefully we'll be able to load that level with textures one way or the other... really looking forward to seeing videos of more of these stages.
I think it was. I just posted some models from it. It's weird that the color in the video is all white. It's not supposed to have textures, but when viewing the models I ripped with SAMDL it doesn't look all white like that. Nice stuff guys. :D
