Connection between "DHZ" and "the desert level"

Fyi, the death egg was MEANT to be similar to the death star, and super sonic was MEANT to be like the super saiyajin form from dragonball Z , to interest western and eastern audiences. I'm sure that an Ij reference wouldnt have made much difference.

 

When you think about that and the Laputa - Castle In The Sky coinsidence with Sonic 3 and Knuckles, SEGA are a bit shitty at making something origional aren't they?

 

Or maybe references in games were a cool thing at the time.
remember, games werent as popular with the "common" crowd at the time. gaming had a loyal fanbase brewing, but the current market wasn't highly into games, so it mainly used pop culture references to draw them in

I personally think the death egg hit the nail on the head. Its so goddamned uber. I wish they remade it in a later, non-crapass "heroes" sonic game.

 

It was a floating Island =P Wow. There weren't really as many similiarities as people make out.

 

The fact that it was a floating island, the pillar design (used in HPZ), crystal that made it float and the fact that it crumbled at the end. All associated with the film.

What other objects were in the desert and woods zone? There are plenty of empty object slots in the binary, so we figure that plenty of it once had data there.

The desert zone was as you see in that image, with cactus and assorted plants (She is Talking about our Mock-up? That's Weird... ) It was designed to have a palette change, which turned the sand into snow, and you?d have a winter scene. We had to be fairly ingenious with such a limited palette. In the winter zone, (that?s what I call it), instead of cactus, I had created Christmas trees, which I thought looked kinda cool. I remember the woods zone having pink flowers somewhere. Hey, I am a girl? heh.

Suppose for a second that "Dust Hill" was meant to be a rock level, as mentioned elsewhere in the topic. There was a rock zone planned at one time...could "Dust Hill" have been a working title for it? And UZ comparisons are somewhat reasonable since Sonic 2 Beta carries similarites more to the GG Sonic 2 than Sonic Chaos.
Why the heck would OOZ have the Arabian music? I have no idea. You never hear of Arab countries having large oil reserves or anything, so I don't know. But I'm not going to get into it sounding more Arabian than Sandopolis.
What does get me is the danged oil properties. Why the heck would Sonic be able to practically float on oil? It doesn't make any frickin' sense!
And to reference yet another point in the topic, HPZ actually pulled a HTZ reuse...ever play ICZ in Sonic 3?

Yes, I Read. And people STILL believe it's a Desert Zone name.
The name can fit, can be good for a Desert Level, but that not means that is from a Desert Level.
(Sonic Team isn't enought creative to do a name to a level, so they take a Desert level name and Placed in Mystic Cave Zone?)

 

What I think that Aurochs means is that we know this already... It has been discussed time and time again, and from evidence we've collected, the same point you just made had been already concluded a few months ago.

 

So this question is over? The Page (in the Bottom) say it's unknow the name is Dust Hill or the name isn't Dust Hill...
