I had this feeling recently with the pole elevators in mushroom hill. I never liked that sound but this last time they sounded really painful.

Oh, people do that? My only fixed route was trying to always take the upper route (blame bottomless pits and water level), and recalling anything I found in my way. The only place I had this kind of fixed route for giant ring hunting was Mushroom Hill as Knuckles, since it was possible to get all the Super Emeralds there. Either way, I can't memorize any kind of route in Sandopolis at all, everything looks the same there. :v:

I've never finished Sonic 2 with all of the chaos emeralds (the most I've ever gotten is 4), and I've never gotten all of the Super Emeralds in Sonic 3&K. In the latter the S&K special stages were much tougher than the Sonic 3 stages, and I don't know a ton of the Special Stage ring locations in the S&K half. Though, after all the blue sphere training I received in Mania I'll probably go back and give it another shot.

I never owned a Genesis until 1997. While I did play the games at friend's homes, including Sonic 1 back in 1991, I truly got into Sonic through AOSTH episodes on UPN. I was actually pretty hooked onto it in 94 or so, and got hooked onto that AND Satam when they re-aired (edited) on USA later on, but FINALLY got S3&K for the PC years later in June 97. I spent the summer beating it and then proceeded to collect every Genesis, game gear, and Sonic game available, nearly all used from Funcoland/Gamestop... and with a small handful of titles new on the Saturn.

My Sonic upbringing was anything but traditional. I did finally get a Dreamcast brand new in late 99, however.

I just remembered something I must confess. I feel like I posted it here once before, but can't find it, so...

When I was around 9 or 10 years old, my brother and I rented Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine from Blockbuster. I'm not sure what we were expecting, but we definitely didn't like the whole puzzle game concept. I remember being disappointed it wasn't a real Sonic game. When the due date to return it came, I took the cartridge and put it under the bathroom sink and flooded that sucker with water out of spite for not living up to expectations. I remember testing it afterward and the thing still worked, so back to the sink it went. Once it was confirmed dead, off it went. :v:

If anyone out there rented the game and it didn't work, I'm sorry.

Alright I've got one I can share! When I was a kid I had the PC version of Sonic CD that I used to actually walk around and listen to on my walkman cd player. I remember being on summer vacation on the beach actually listening to Sonic CD music. I still love both the US and JP soundtracks to this day, though I prefer the JP soundtrack a bit more nowadays.

There are definitely posts from 15+ years ago when I was a young teen in love with Sonic video games floating around the internet archives somewhere... That thought fills me with a bit of dread haha.

Had to bump this because I remembered something I didn't confess before and it deserves the bump.

Long before internet and e-mails were something to find at anybody's home, I had a penfriend (for youngsters: yes, a friend through paper mail, not instant messaging, can you believe it?). I was pretty depressed by that time, and my self-steem back then was so low it was deep underground, so having a girl paying attention to me in some way felt like a miracle, so, in my poor state, I thought I could have found my lifemate and decided to show her my love with a drawing.

Well, by that time, I was on my early fan art era, making a lot of pictures related to Sonic Chaos and SegaSonic arcade, which were the most recent titles at the moment, so I chose to make a sketch with Tails on the left walking towards the right with a big smile and open arms ready to hug; at the right, there was a single-tailed female fox (noticeable by the ribbon on her head) with her hands grabbving each other on the girl's chest out of emotion for being loved by Tails, her smile as big as the one in our well-known friend's face.

Just to give you all the details and no cliffhanger, I was 13 and admittedly stupid for doing what I did considering she and me had really nothing in common besides a handful of mails, so her following anser was the last time she talked to me. I know this experience has little to do with Sonic or the picture itself, but using Sonic elements to express my feelings shows how important Sonic was for me when I was underaged, and remembering the drawing I never got back talks about how important was what I was telling through the Sonic themed picture.

I think this is the first time I post in this topic feeling I'm really confessing something, so thanks for reading.

This is a pretty current confession: My first car, a Subaru forester, just died and I'm looking for a new car. I'm looking at a few used cars, one of them being a Scion XB, which is almost cube shaped (more of a rectangle). My first car was black, so I had a bizarre Sonic geared though: "My first car was black, so it was kind of like the Shadow the Hedgehog car, but if I get that cube-shaped XB, it could be like the Infinite (from Sonic Forces) car because he uses cubes as one of his attacks!!!" It might be one of the weirdest thoughts I've had that related Sonic-stuff to my life. Anyway, we'll see what happens there hahaha

I once bought 11 copies of Sonic Unleashed because my 360 would keep "eating" the discs and I never bothered to get my 360 fixed. Now the laser doesn't work!

Still a mystery on why I'm poor.

Play Origins because they don't have extra lives. Can't get a game over. And you can use coins to get the Chaos Emeralds.

Sometimes when wearing socks, I still slide on the floor in my house like I'm Shadow. It's faster than walking and it's fun.
