    You probably want to throw on a couple more subdivisions to the cylinders along the sides, just for consistency's sake.

    Since the pixels look more like rectangles in the Special Stage, the screen has the same aspect ratio (and size) than the rest of the game, because it has a smaller horizontal resolution.

    Ok I've had another bash - this time drawing by hand - It is not finished and also needs a lot of tidying (I've done some)

    I actually like it. Then again, I think Yoshi's Island has some of the best graphics in any videogame ever.

    roxahris, RamiroR, it is simply impossible to demonstrate non-aspect pixel modes in software. That's why Kega does it so badly, and Gens doesn't do it at all.

    By hardware it is much easier. You all got a monitor right? And it has a button to bring up an OSD menu? Find an option that looks like two arrows pointing away from each other. Press it and stretch the screen. What it does is widen the width or the height of each pixel to make it non-square. It looks much nicer because you'll get an even result, and not a truncated one.
    On a Television screen, running the special stage, or any other 32 char mode (many games do it because it is the default mode, or because they need to update a lot of tiles at once like cool 3D scenes - see Sonic 2 Special Stage :thumbsup: ), the screen is stretched. At it looks good.

    Sorry I was looking to the previous attempts! :thumbsup:

    Hand drawn is cool, yet I don't feels it's better and more versatile than EL's version. (We need also a color version of it!)

    I strongly suggest to work on EL's version for further improvements.

    Ok, thanks for the comments, I'll work on it some more this weekend. I did note that the blocks needed to be roughened up a bit. Thanks for the image though, that will be very helpful :thumbsup:

    Well, Thx for the support as always Vinc, But my version is a little strange, Im drawing another version with a graphic Tablet I bought yesterday, I'll post it here when I finish it ^^

    But wouldn't using Bump Mapping clog up resources too much?
    We could spend the same resources for more smaller and different FXs.
