    The bush looks promising STP.

I'd like to see what it looks like with the same colour scheme as the original sprite, with it then scaled down to 4x (with a side by side comparison of the original sprite, with the same blue background).

Sonic 2 HD: Mockup... person... thingie.
My power has been out for the past couple of days, so I was just now able to put this together:

I know the lighting still needs some work, and I don't really like the four extra leaves (which it probably shows they were mostly drawn in Photoshop), but I think it's an improvement over the last one.

You might want to try putting in a confined area light focused on the point where the specular effect is in the original sprite with a quick falloff.

This bush probably won't make it into the tech demo, but when you have a chance please upload the source files for what you have for it so far STP. I think it looks pretty good (apart from those four leaves) :(

What happened to Sanik's diamond shaped leaf bush? That was actually a good attempt at the bush. Now all we're getting are pretty bland submissions.

Sorry if that's too harsh for people, but that's how honest I can be; completely honest.

I agree. I think the bush looks alot better curved outwardly. EHZ has alot of perfect geometric shapes, and so I think a bush that appears
to be a more-or-less perfect 3D oval fits in with that nicely. I think it's a good compromise between trying to look like the original bush, and improving the style of it.

Guys we need Mockups of Aquatic Ruin Zone!

Please remember that creativity has no longer stops, since the million color upgrade.
Besides this, remeber to keep your mockups clean and do not abuse gradients. It's important for us to have clear separate shapes in order to separate them into tiles, so **the use of Vector art objects** is preferred.

Let's the creative juice flow!!! :D

I was looking at the original tiles yesterday and looking for some resources to base the HD versions on. It'll be hard to get the texture feeling right in the finished tiles but I had a quick go when I got home from work (literally 10 minutes) at making an example of an idea I have.

When I looked for resources the thing that jumped out at me is that the tiles look like they are marble(ish) so I mocked up a very quick marble tile (a full one would have a lot more texture and time spent tidying the lines up.

I know the ending panels are already being worked on by Toot Toot Sonic Warrior (and are looking really beautiful and had-painted), but
I've been continuing work on my colour version and would just like to know what people think so far.

I've fixed it up a lot since my last version, especially the eyes, but it's still very much WIP.

(Apologies if this is in the wrong place...?)

I wanted to try on the Tails' ending cutscene as well, I was wondering on how this looks. I made it in Flash, unfortunately I don't have any paint program such as Photoshop.

    EDIT:
Well here an updated version with the animals, a few more shading and Tails' left eye fixed a bit..

I'm struggled alot with the tiny animals, I just couldn't tell much from the pixels.

Holy crap, RGX! I didn't expect you to be here.

I must say, though, awesome as always.

Not bad!! I still prefer pointed edges (like El made).
Your linework is clean, but too round. (Especially eyes! Take the eye shapes from the official Artworks or SJ's Tails frame[IMG]

For animals have a look over the DATABASE under each Animal's section.

Ah so, you guys aren't going pixel by pixel anymore.. Ok, I'll try to make the lineart a bit more sharper then rounder (well around the ears anyways).. If there is specific parts of the body that need work, please point them out for me...

EDIT: Do you want me to change Tail's muzzle as well? The pic you provided is a different shape then the one on the sprite.

Yes, while keeping the "base" from pixel art, please try to make it more like Artworks!

Especially for the ending, we need extremely cool pictures! ;)

Changing subject, PicklePower or any other Mockup artists, we need some Acquatic Ruin mockup asap.

My mountains look pretty bad (as usual), and as for the leaves up top, I've got squat. After several attempts to make them look halfway decent, I finally just scribbled some stuff that kind of looks like it might represent leaves somewhat. I'm wondering if I should have included them at all...

Wow, fantastic stuff and pretty inspiring. ;)

Of course trees and mountains need more work, but Mockups just serve us to give an idea! :(

Could you also have a go at the "christmas plants" BG just before a water section?

Well, I got another trial period (Thanks Tweaker).

I made the Special Stage, it is totally in 3D.
My idea isn't use Pre-Renderer pictures, I think that it would be better if we do the Special Stage totally in 3d, something like this:
1024x896, I don't think that resolution is right. But don't forget that Sonic 2 turns the screen at another resolution at Special Stage.

Well, sorry about the little spots in the tubes. I'll correct them later.
Please if somebody can correct this, please tell me, I will change it.

P.S.: The background it's the original one, can somebody do a HD background?

By HD I'm assuming you're just referring to the resolution we'll be using at 4x, so creating a background based on the original isn't a difficult task. Do you have access to Photoshop, Illustrator, or another graphics program?

Also, you've run right into the shading issues that were brought up before and never fully resolved. If you're going to make another version, I might suggest squashing your orbs in relation to the camera position - that will get rid of their stretched look for you. Is this something you've created in 3ds Max?
