I could only find a little thumbnail of this box art after searching the net, so I thought I'd take a picture and share a little info on the game. (AUS, possibly E) Box - For some reason the (E) versions have the first level removed. Perhaps it was too much like Green Hill Zone, this level plays faster then any other in the game. - My version is the Codemasters one, the level title screen has DataEast removed. - The box has the name 'Havoc', yet the game boots with the logo "Captn' Havoc' . The US version is called High Seas Havoc... (What is with all the name changes?) - I can only assume that with this being the Codemasters ones, that the DataEast ones do not come with the strange Codemasters cart shape? Anyways, enjoy this lesser-known game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBEgF4-DcZE
The US and Japanese versions have their respective regular shapes, yes. Also, the Japanese version is called Captain Lang. :v: Regarding this box, I've seen it being sold from German and UK sellers, but I never saw it in Spanish shops, so it wasn't an all-Europe release. Neither version seems to be too rare, in any case.
http://segaretro.org/File:Havoc_MD_EU_Box.jpg strictly speaking this is a UK version with stickers for the Australian market, but whatever It was published by Codemasters in Europe, who weren't fans of pan-Euro covers. Some countries got the above cover, others got this one, with all the appropriate translations
Let me scan a better version, give me a sec. EDIT: http://I.imgur.com/nI4l6TG.jpg?1 For anyone who hasn't seen the original, the Havoc font on the front and spine are done in a metallic foil. Scanning the cart and manual now... Cart and Manual EDIT2: http://I.imgur.com/z2lsNLS.jpg
I literally just saw a video with a image of this game, and didn't know what it was. I just posted on said video and I just saw this thread right after. :v: This game looks really fun, I'm going to download it and play in on actual hardware tomorrow after work. :3
