I've looked and looked, but I have found nothing concerning hacking of CPS2 based ROMS. (Probably because of encryption or the fact that the ROMS are actually several files zipped together.) Does anyone know of even the simpilist hacking tools for CPS2 games?
Dunno. But each file in the .zip is the dump of a chip on the motherboard, IIRC. You might be interested by http://cps2shock.retrogames.com/ too.
I think its the encryption that would kill the whole thing, working with seperate rom files is not hard. Other then huge memory patches though, I don't see if anything can be done with them (unless there are emulators that can boot unencrypted roms).
Maybe, what I really want to do is to take voice samples from Street Fighter Alpha 2, and put them in to Alpha 3, to replace the crappy newer voices they did for many characters (Ryu, Ken, Sakura, Charlie, Cammy - her's whould come from X Men vs. Street Fighter.)
Some SFA2 colour hacks were recently posted on the GGPO forums: http://ggpo.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=494 Also, this isn't really a hack but, a cheat modification for X-men Cota: http://www.geocities.com/allo.rm/index.html
