Or does he look like that in the final version of Chao Adventure..?

Sonic looks different in that Speed Highway pic.*wonders where Naka got that yellow controller*

 

Also, the Chao has different wings than normal. Those were used later for the "Angel Chao", in Sonic Adventure 2.


So this is more proof that they started this project using the original Sonic designs. We have this Sonic in the VMU, the Sonic R models in Sky Chase and the graphics in the pinball machine. It's a shame that they never released any screens of a beta version with the old designs.

I wonder if they ever made any high-quality 3D "classic" models before the whole redesign, or if they just used the Sonic R ones until then...
