    Let's see... ummm

Ok thought of some other big ones that I missed.
Lavareef act 2 straight up through Doomsday was indeed EPIC!
Sorry to all of you Sonic CD fans but I just didn't like any of the bosses...let alone the levels..........and the game as a whole just wasn't my favorite.
Sonic 3D Blast's bosses weren't too bad but still are enough to make me not want to play the game.
All of Sonic 2 and Sonic 3&K's bosses were fantastic.
Sonic 1 bosses were too slow paced.
Sonic Adventure bosses were all very fun. Challenging but not impossible to do well on.
Sonic Adventure 2 could have been better. The Tails' v. Eggman fights were just a lot of random button mashing to me, and the second round was friggin impossible!
Sonic Heroes...finally, another boss after every stage, just like the old days......too bad they sucked. Fighting the other teams was just too much.
Shadow the Hedgehog....I don't remember. I played through the game enough times to get most of the endings and finally gave up due to frustration. Pitched the game and went on YouTube to see the rest of the endings/storyline.
Sonic Rush brought back the classic 2D bosses and had a boss for every zone as well. Only this time, all the bosses were fun the first time and are still fun the fiftieth time around. (except for the final boss as Super Sonic/Blaze.
Sonic Rush Adventure, again had entertaining bosses that gave you multiple chances to hit the boss and instead of hitting the boss 8 times to destroy it, they had health meters, which I personally thought was a pain at first, but now love the idea. (longer fights)
Sonic Advance 1 and 3's bosses were very slow paced and immensely difficult. I'm just too used to the old controls. The exception is Moon Zone though. Moon Zone ranks up there with Perfect Chaos. It's nice to have some actual control over Super Sonic.
Sonic Advance 2 was a nice...change of pace so to speak. The constant speed really brings back the idea that Sonic is supposed to be fast.
And finally, Sonic Unleashed.......... I'll let you know as soon as I've finished playing it.

I only have 4 particularly memorable boss fight moments, one of which just happened a month ago, actually.

1.) The Egg Driller from Sonic 2. This is the first Sonic game I ever played, thus the first boss I ever fought. Good times, I guess.

2.) That boss in Chemcial Plant Zone kicked my ass as a kid, and I never made it past that zone on my cousin's Genesis. Luckily that all changed after I got Sonic Mega Collection and beat 'em all.

3.) In Sonic Adventure 1, the night before I was almost done beating Sonic's story on the last boss. He had a couple of hits left then I was rushed to bed and turned the TV off without turning off the game on purpose so I could return to it later. I had school the next morning so I beat the boss and didn't even get to see the last cutscene without beating the game again. :) Oh well, good times.

4.) This just happened a month ago, in Sonic 2 once again. It's nothing too special I suppose, but after getting up to the Death Egg, beating Metal Sonic, and going through countless lives and continues for the last boss, I was on my last life on my last continue, with no rings. This was the final battle and I was giving it my all. And miraculously, I managed to beat the final boss on my final life. That was amazing.

The boss progression through S&K was fantastic.

That said, I must be colourblind or something, because I can't see ANY difference between the bosses now and the ones ten years ago. If anyone said they liked one of those soulless levels, I'm going to punch them through my computer monitor, or at least try.

  4. I liked the boss battles in Adventure 1. Mainly because they were so damn easy and short, unlike unleashed. They dragged on forever.

Metal Sonic Race in Sonic CD and the very first boss in Sonic 1. GOD, I love that sledgehammer. If I could have babies with it, I would.

You could beat the Unleash bosses fairly quick bro.

There is something special about sonic 1 bosses which never became reused in 2 or 3, like star light zone and spring yards.

Every boss in Sonic CD rock harder than any other sonic bosses.
Also, Sonic Adventure 2 "Egg Golem", Sonic Adventure "Zero", Sonic Unleashed "that boss you fight in Spagonia"
And of course, "Eggman" in Sonic Adventure Gaiden.

I find the CD bosses to be the most boring, they are no threat and all take less then 8 hits apart from the final boss, which is as laughable as the final boss in sonic 3 alone.

I agree that they're not too difficult, but the Sonic CD bosses always had a pretty cool quality that very few bosses in the other Mega Drive games had—a challenge to overcome. Instead of finding a weak point and simply repeating a pattern multiple times to defeat a boss, you would instead be presented with some sort of obstacle—a pinball machine, a circle of bubbles, et al—and you would have to figure out some sort of way to get past it and hit the boss. In this sense, it's less about "hit x amount of times" as much as it's about "use your skill to overcome this glorified obstacle."

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem many other bosses in the series have posessed such qualities on quite as much of a level that they did in Sonic CD. The cool part was how you could either take 3 seconds or 5 hours to defeat a boss, depending on how good you were at the game. Now that is what I rewarding skill. :colbert:

One reason why I love the sonic 1 bosses, in spring yard you have to hit him quickly or end up with no ground to stand on plus you have to make sure you don't rebound down a hole when doing so, and star light has multiple approaches to hitting robotnik.
