New year, same story. Got the new soundtrack, had the day off, got right to scanning. Here's the album, 320kb .MP3: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0O23GUWZ Here are the booklet scans (And other things): http://vgmdb.net/album/29979
This is some incredible stuff! I can't wait to go through all of these again, but not looped of course.
For anyone who downloaded the booklet scans, you may want to download them again; someone on FFShrine caught one of my little booboos: Apparently I scanned two pages twice and forgot the actual one. It's been remedied now.
Thanks so much man. It's great to finally hear some of the tracks I had been after for awhile now. The Biolizard song doesn't disappoint ~
Woah, I'm very surprised by how many tracks Richard Jacques did. Seaside Hill Act 1? Silver?? Egg Dragoon??? It's interesting because, after listening to his remixes in order, you start to see the similarities in general style. That's pretty awesome!
I didn't even know he was involved at all. Neat! So he's the one who arranged Perfect Chaos Part 2 apparently...very interesting. Thanks forever and always Ashram. EDIT: No Fumie Kumatani anywhere, not even for the cutscenes. Hope that doesn't mean what I think it does.
Very cool. Much thanks! Hehhehheh, you credited Jun Senoue to Green Hill Act 1 in the tags, yet Naofumi Hayata's credited in the booklet. Oops! Also, holy shit, Richard Jaques composed the Time Eater theme?! And split Modern Sky Sanctuary with Senoue? Dude! As a melody the Time Eater theme comes off a bit generic for my tastes, but it's hard to make orchestral melodies stand out for me, especially in video games. I still give him props for the subtle atmosphere he uses for various takes on it (boss themes vs. cutscene cameos, etc.). Love the Part 2 mix. As for SSZ... I thought there was something... decent about the arrangement and mixing of the Modern track(s) that Senoue normally doesn't seem to give a shit about. Again, little subtleties in things behind the melody - chord structure, little string accents, things like that. Basically, it had a bit of extra spit and polish put into it, something I often find Senoue's compositions need more of. To really hear it all and be able to focus on it outside of the game, it's really a treat. Damn, I'm only on track 11 of disc 1, but so far everything just feels... great. As with the visuals throughout the game, hearing the audio on its own, it feels like the audio crew really did go all-out and make this game's soundtrack a celebration of Sonic's various soundscapes throughout the years. I'm thinking this is goin' on my DSi for the semester. Cheers, Ashram!
What got me is that he apparently handled the Biolizard remix. What the hell? I love it to bits and would never have guessed. Thanks so much for the rip! It's great to have clear, clean versions of all the 3DS tracks.
Quick question, does anyone have a high quality shot of the album cover? I want something for my itunes art. Can't wait to download this and replace the game rips with these versions when I get home. Finally some 3DS Boss rips. Awesome
would someone mind putting up the corrected booklet page separately? I can't seem to get it for whatever reason. Also totally blown away by Richard Jacques doing the Time Eater. He's beaten Kobayashi at his own game!
They're all up on VGMdb, as well: http://vgmdb.net/album/29979
Hehhehheh, you credited Jun Senoue to Green Hill Act 1 in the tags, yet Naofumi Hayata's credited in the booklet. Oops!
A minor mistake. I was going as fast as I could. :v:
Thanks Ashram, appreciate this, listening through it now. So far, I prefer the gamerip version of the Metal Sonic Battle, the one on the CD doesn't included the muffled Radio intro part, it just jumps straight into the track. White Room Medley is awesome!
The one on the CD is the same as the 3DS version then. Because that skips straight to the track too.
A minor mistake. I was going as fast as I could. :v:
No worries, I figured that was the case.
Damn this is excellent, Thanks a lot Ashram! Now I have the 3DS songs as well! Even though personally the 3DS had the worse soundtrack if you ask me. Though that's just my personal preference.
