Hmm...I don't know how I feel about this. Especially if I remember right, when Saz did this when drunk/high. What's to prevent him from getting drunk/high and doing the same shit, and not remembering it in the morning? Once you're drunk, you tend to act in ways you normally wouldn't. I know from experience. I wouldn't be opposed to say, making Rika_Chou admin temporarily. He seems active enough and won't fuck around with stuff.
To play devil's advocate for a second, most of those things could be done by a global mod (rika_chou or Stealth, though the latter isn't here often enough to be effective as a moderator).
Actually, Stealth is on about every day, around 3PM+. He's just annonymous all the time. :P Well, like I said, I've taken the precautions to make sure this won't happen again. Besides, if he was gonna do something destructive, he could've done it anyway, and more effectively, since he has direct server access (and I believe is the only one who has it, though I have limited FTP/SQL access).
I wasn't worried about him causing destruction per se, because its one thing to wipe out a board and force you to put it elsewhere. People understand crap goes down and they will go back when it comes back up, even if in a new location. My concern, like I said previously, was him doing something like he did that made at least 2 well respected members I know leave(Guess_Who still remains, but I haven't seen QJimbo around lately, nor Fiz.) Even with safeguards in place, it took just one night to raise holy hell. Its possible also that he could take command and demote all current admins except himself, and mess with your e-mails to prevent you from getting password access, if he wanted to fully seize the board. In a normal state I don't know if he'd really do this, but people do crazy shit when drunk/high, which he was when he caused all the shit last time. And then people WOULDN'T come back when that happens, since they'll be pissed off because someone screweed with them. Maybe I'm just not quite as forgiving to people. I tend not to let them be in charge of something(If I have control of it of course...obviously I don't here.) if they really fucked up up first time around because I DO fear they'll fuck it up again. Saz can do what he pleases with Cult since he's the final authority there, but this place is entirely different, LocalH is the final authority here, and Saz shouldn't have just did what he wanted here and tried to manipulate a new administrator. Just so all bases are covered, I have no issue with Saz hanging here, but I thought it was the right decision when he was demoted from being admin and just left as an oldbie or tech member...whatever it was. And that's how I think it oughta stay. Seriously, this place could go along on 2 administrators for a little while, like everyone has been saying, until you get your issues sorted out, Tweaker. Or if you insist on having an additional admin in your absence, put Stealth or Rika_Chou in that spot(assuming they'd agree to it). You trusted them enough to make them global mods and everyone here highly respects them and they haven't done anything to screw with anyone, and to me, they'd be the best fits. Do what you want, and I hope you get whatever your issues are, sorted out soon. But this is my two cents, from someone who's been in similar situations as an admin of a decent sized community and agreed that someone had to be kicked off our website/demoted from a mod position. Everything went smoother in the end when that person was relegated to a normal position.
Right, since I'm officially "back" now (did I ever leave?), I'll be taking my spot back now. I've decided to leave Saz with a moderator position, though, seeing as all in all that's more helpful, and ensures a better check upon what he can do. Hopefully this will better help people to settle down with Saz on the staff team.
