Nah, the overall shape and form is too different to bother with that. It'd just be easier to redraw all that from scratch.

Sorry for my absence, just I didn't have enough time to end my work...
So my work move slowly, but I try to complete spiker within near week. At the end of this week I try to show completed or nearly completed model...

Don't try to do a completed model on your own. It'll be much better for your own progress and final quality if you post up steps according to the badnik guide Cerulean Nights made. Once you think you have the basic shapes for the badnik down, please post that up first.

It is a nice start. Please don't continue on with any more shading until those basic shapes are perfected though, and are okayed by staff. The biggest issues I see right now are the perspectives on the eyes and drill. The eyes one the sprite actually have the wrong perspective too, so don't use that as an example for the eyes. The top of the left eye should be at the same height as the top of the right eye, and it should also follow the curve of the sphere. Since you are looking straight on at him, the drill should have a flat bottom, instead of rounded as well. The spikes on your drill are also just random sizes and going random directions. Use the concept art for a better idea of how it should look.

One thing you might look at adding is the segments on the legs that connect to the body in the concept art. I think it would be a nice addition

And as always, please post at the 4x resolution (you can still post the bigger one as well if you wish)

I like the shading on the spiker.

Just a tip I didn't see posted, try curving the spikes around the drill up a bit, they're curved up more in the art and in some places on the sprite.

Notice the grooves cut into the drill part in the concept version.

I correct his eyes as that advised, so what can say about that...
Other things that advised still in progress.

  12. Could you show us it at the same size as the original sprite (x4)? :)

The only gripe I still have with the Orbinaut head is that his eyes should keep making an ellipse shape before the eyelid starts.

With that, I mean something like this:

EDIT: Oh okay, there's something else. Also, the shadow at the bottom seems to have an outline, making it look like it has a muzzle/Homer beard.

This is another example of why we've asked contributers over and over again to wait on any shading until all the shapes have been verified first. It's making extra work for the artist until things have been cleaned up in the first stage. And as Meph noted, please post up your WIP shots with one in 4x.

  15. I saw the "belt" as more similar to our kosher friend on the right.

I always thought it was a device similar to the Knight Rider LEDs.

Posting that video pretty much necessitated the animation of the "belt." Now if it had the lighting effects of CN's amazing "Flasher" we would have a new standard for badniks. And I don't think that would—in the long run—be a bad thing.

I think he meant that it's supposed to be a light, not a design.

It would look better as a light though.

    Nice spiker.

The Flasher is actually a good example of the standards we have set for the badniks now. If you decide to add the knight rider light (I think it's a great idea) it will need to be smooth and fluid. Even more important than the light will be how the legs are animated. Each leg will need to be separately animated on the joints and where is connects to the body.

But, you are getting ahead of yourselves. The shapes still have a long way to go. While the eye height was fixed, it still looks wrong. ICEKnight has the right idea with his example, and also the top of the eye needs to follow the curve of the sphere.

The legs are all different sizes, much like the spikes on the drill were. The front legs need to be larger than the back legs. I will help you out more with the shapes when I see a 4x version posted.

Here is the older version of my ghora, this is the style that you will want to follow when making your Spiker.

  20. Shouldn't the same Ghora sprite be used for the other? They are the exact same, no? Also, I too had been attempting something similar to the knight rider light, just couldn't find anything similar.
