Archie Sonic Comic Megathread

The Sky Patrol, eh? Are we really going to see Witchcart and her cronies? That would be super nice.

They did Tails Adverture characters and they have been long lasting so far so I hope I'm right and I can't wait.

 

Captain Metal, eh?

There's a fan-theory already going about that Captain Metal is the Metal Sonic that did the dimension jumping back in 2009 with Shadow into the Sonic X comic and into Sonic Universe's First Issue into the Sol Dimension where Blaze and Marine live. For those of you who don't know, that Metal Sonic was blown up by Marine's cannon thanks to Shadow and Blaze weakening it, the parts scattered into the water. That leaves the possibility that someone could've picked up the pieces and rebuilt him as a pirate. Dr. Eggman Nega perhaps? He even sort of looks like a Metal Sonic if you look at the design carefully. Well that, and the variant cover showing Metal Sonic's head faded into the background to the left of Amy adds to the speculation.

Sweet to see Uncle Chuck on the cover (seriously one of my favorite SatAM characters, so I'm happy whenever he's a part of the story) but odd to redesign him.

So I totally want to subscribe to this again since the comic is fun and I was only catching bits and pieces of it. Additionally I'd like to start Sonic Universe and Megaman because reasons. Problem is I don't know if I have to move for my potential job and if I subscribe for a year using my current address what happens if I move? I don't see anything on Archie's site about changing a shipping address. I'd rather subscribe because in the long run its cheaper and the local comic shop is a total shithole.

That Boot...I wanna say it's a miscolor done on purpose as that looks like Sally's new Boot except it's red, but it COULD be a redesign Amy's...if Sega ever allowed them to do anything that drastic that is, as Sega of USA (or Sega in general) has a pretty tight grip on Archie's Sonic title, though considering the lack of quality WAY back before Flynn's run it's understandable, then again unlike other Sonic comics Sega has always has a hand on the comic even during it's early years pre-Dreamcast era.

So we know the Robot Masters from the Mega Man games 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 will be present. All will tremble before the might have Sheep Man.
And Shadow Man was rebuilt rather quickly...

Someone mind telling me what was so familiar to Eggman as he dropped Dr. Light? I can't seem to recall anything.

 

When he dropped Sonic out of the Death Egg after roboticizing Sally.

Wait a second I just got part 11 of Sonic Universe....without ever getting part 9 or part 10.

I confus.

EDIT: So some spoilers while I read:

-Eggman and Wily are getting pissed at one another
-Sonic gets bitch slapped by Metal pretty good. It's powerful enough to send Sonic to the roof and ricochet off of it.
-Of course when you fight evil doubles in a crossover you gotta swap dance partners.
-Hilariously it isn't working at all. Sonic is getting the shit kicked out of him by Bass. Megaman can't hit Metal.
-Instead they just gang up and focus on one of them at a time and Sonic makes horrible puns.
-After a brutal beatdown, Sonic and Megaman seem to win. Then Eggman and Wily steamroll both of them in a single hit in the Egg Wily Machine X.
-The team on the ground of the fortress aren't faring so well anymore. Some of them are looking pretty banged up.
-Keep them alive for humiliation. Cliffhanger end.
-Oh god the offpanel. Music puns with Metal and Bass.

Some speculation due to the wording of the end. Eggman and Wily intend to erase Sonic and Megaman from ever existing and become gods with the Super Charged Genesis Wave. the rumors that Metal And Bass might turn on their masters is kinda believable as the asspull saving grace at the end because if Sonic and Megaman go, so do they.

 

Does anyone here subscribe directly from Archie, and if so, do your comics arrive in good condition? I'm trying to decide whether I want to go that route or spend the extra cash on a subscription from a third-party seller.

 

I was subscribed about two years ago, and the issues I received were in great condition. I don't recall any problems with them. I also order the Mega Man comics every once in a while, and those are fine, too.
