Archie Sonic Comic Megathread

I never liked his art style, even when he was in the comics... he always made the joints in the arms and legs too detailed and just weird head and feet proportions... now, with no decent inkers or colorers, it's just... disgusting.

 

He's just called "Grand Battle Kukku (the) XV" and then there is y'know...Speedy.

 

Seriously, I won't mind at all if Archie just scraps his characters completely. I'd actually be HAPPY.

 

...You mean the redesign that was almost universally panned, even by your own fans, who at best were passive on it? Penders, sometimes I just don't even know where you're coming from. At least the Julie-Su art looks alright. It's far better than the Lara-Su one.

Also, did he just compare himself to Jack Kirby? What the hell?

 

Really starting to hate that bastard skunk now...

 

Ben Bates should do more stuff. I like the way he draws. I mean, look at how smug Nagus looks on the second page with the introduction faces.

Though, Sonic yelling on the third page looks kinda weird.

 

On the topic of Penders, I must reiterate this image.



The funny part is that he's doing this to himself with his idiotic actions.

That Julie-Su design looks like it belonged on the cover of a 90s Megadrive game, in the vein of Phantasy Star or something.

 

Where the hell did that image come from?! its hilarious.

Sonic's face in the middle there is something special.

The entire issue looks pretty interesting. Man I need to catch up these really bad, they're getting a good bit interesting as of late, with Sally all robotussin'd and all. :v:

 

I really doubt there's any market whatsoever. If there is, it would be limited to the actual series. Plus, it's not like Penders is doing anything outstandingly great as far as marketing goes. I highly doubt anyone outside of those that go here or his website even know this is going on.

the absolute best thing that I expect to see out of this whole Julie-Su thing is what Flynn will do to the character just to aggravate Penders. I don't hate the character, but I'd be curious if there'd be a little bit of a rebuttal, if only to cause whatever Penders decides to do to become completely non-canon.

 

Yeah, just... Wow. The Lara-Su one looked silly, but this is just...bad. How is it that Penders' art has become so much worse over the years?

 

Are you implying his art was ever good to begin with?
