So, Amy has both her headband, and her headscarf? I should have believed in Tyson more. I'll try to pick this up tomorrow.

 

I don't think Archie understands how one shots work.

 

It's not really a one-shot, there's going to be another issue later this year. Also they want to turn it into a series if it's successful enough.

 

This almost looks like a parody. I love it.

 

It was announced as a one shot. That's what I mean. There will be another issue, but it's another #1. They could have just made this a mini, but for some reason, that makes too much sense to Archie.

 

Sooo, a series focusing on Classic Sonic's adventures?

...Perhaps Flynn will be able to map out his new timeline after all, with a complete retelling of Sonic 2 Game Gear and Sonic 3 and Knuckles :D

Mega Drive was awesome! Can't wait to see more. Had a great chuckle at Knuckles' gullibility as well as the off-panel. Tyson's art seriously steals the show, though. He's nailed the classic aesthetic! I would love to see him on a monthly Sonic title. Great guy, too! Met him at Emerald City ComiCon and he drew me a free sketch of Big the Cat after a conversation about his work at Archie.

 

Where can I buy this Mega Drive comic, specifically? I'd really really like to own this series.

 

Dear God me too, These are beautiful. I'll gladly fork over money to reinforce this behavior.

 

Find a local comic book shop, call them, ask if they have it in stock, and go buy it. That's what I did.

A fun read. Based on the pacing, I'd bet that this is not just a two-parter. Especially since the blurb at the end says the adventure continues, rather than concludes.

Every page I'm seeing looks so great, it almost doesn't bother me that Sonic has blue eyelids. =P

Absolutely cracking book. The main series feels a little too complicated right now, but this is a nice solid romp. Shame the "story so far" page seems to double down on SEGA's official mandate that Sonic CD comes after 3 and Knuckles...

 

I don't even buy Sonic merch, let alone the comics; but I am genuinely willing to pick up a copy of Mega Drive and presumably Next Level when that releases too. As a fan of the Genesis Sonic era-designs, the character interactions and especially the artstyle is just way too good for me to pass up.

 

I picked up the last physical copy of Mega Drive at a local shop. Absolutely love it.

Nitpick for the lulz: Eggman's 'stache is brown in the main panels and orange in Knuckles' memories. 'Cause he remembers things sooo accurately anyway. :v:

 

I have Google survey credits so I'm gonna throw money at them digitally and physically.

Sonic Mega Drive - The Next Level will be a 48 page comic.

 

I went out at lunch and bought all the copies left in the store, which was only 2...

 

Well, SEGA's mandate also says the Mega Drive games are the only canonical ones, whereas the Archie comic (of which this is canonical to) has Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (MS/GG) as an event that has occured. Really, it's probably Flynn's choice on the matter for story reasons, as he does apparently have all this mapped out.
