That just looks like Tails is looking at the socks, while the rest are looking at his ass.

I had the first one as a kid.

It's kind of Archie-ish (has Uncle Chuck and Sally) but follows its own story.

It starts out with Uncle Chuck adopting Sonic and Robotnik. When Sonic was 7, Robotnik invented a machine for Uncle Chuck but something goes wrong and the machine explodes, putting Robotnik and Chuck in the hospital. Robotnik decides to run away and he isn't seen again.

8 years later, Robotnik comes back and takes over Mobius, roboticizing Uncle Chuck and forcing Sonic to run away. Sonic meets Sally in the Knothole forest and joins the Freedom Fighters.

I still have 1, 2 and 4 of the adventure game books.

Haven't read/played them in years, but I remember them being very challenging.

  4. HOLY HELL I HAD THE 2ND ONE.

    That's awesome!

    The joke book:

    <a href="http://www.megaupload.com/?d=803SYOGX" target="_blank">http://www.megaupload.com/?d=803SYOGX</a>

This is obviously STC (uk) based. From what I know, the Martin Adams books are also STC based.

There's also a gamebook, that I don't know which universe is based, if any. There's a STC Amy there, but I don't know ift hey all are.

I've never heard about the ones someone posted though. Those Archie based ones.

Edit: I've found some info on them.

I have the Sonic the Hedgehog book by Michael Teitelbaum, the Secret Admirer book and Sonic's Shoe Blues book. I actually colored the Teitelbaum because it was plain like the joke book.

I found a lot of them on the hardrive.

There was a "Where's Wally" type book, on photo format sorry:

    <a href="http://www.megaupload.com/?d=61HK4ARC" target="_blank">http://www.megaupload.com/?d=61HK4ARC</a>

I snatched the two from uk.resistance from what I recall. There was a yearbook posted after that, but I think tka has that one. It was from there that Secret Rings got the "I'm not a rat!" joke, or then, it's a cute coincidence.

Oh! I have the sequel to that book!

It's called "Where's Sonic Now?" and it's based on Sonic 3 instead of Sonic 2

I found some scans of both books and others on this site:
    <a href="http://www.videogamemm.com/thehorde/main.php?g2_itemId=5311" target="_blank">http://www.videogamemm.com/thehorde/main.php?g2_itemId=5311</a>

  9. I have all five of the Michael Teitelbaum novels (but not the activity book). I haven't read them in years, but maybe I should do it again soon just for fun. They're all pretty SatAM-oriented, although the last book is a SatAM/S3&K hybrid if I remember correctly. Given the publication era this isn't surprising.

I have the first two Teitelbaum books on the list. My mom found them in some thrift store roughly 11 years after the fact, and I'm pretty sure it was the last time I ever truly got excited over anything. It was magical.

Those Adams books are news to me, though. Someone should really start pushing to get these scanned and compiled someplace if it hasn't been done already.

    hey wiki you're so fine
Those Adams gamebooks were in my local library too, and I remember renting them when I was much younger. They had screenshots of Sonic 2's Chemical Plant zone on the back IIRC.

I never saw any of these... I've seen tons of Super Mario ones, though.

After looking at some of those pictures, though... I think I made better back when I was 13.

Let's see... I have Sonic and Knuckles, the Activity Book, Sonic The Hedgehog and Robotnik's Revenge.

I remember buying the first two from a Scholastic book fair happening at my elementary school and stealing the other two from my second grade class (namely as they have my teacher's name on the cover.) I did always want to get the other ones but never came across them sadly. I liked the Sonic and Knuckles one best.

Scans can be made if so desired. Do note that I finished the Activity Book all those years ago, so...

I think it'll be hard to find an activity book that hasn't been drawn on anyway. It is an activity book nonetheless. ;)

Unfortunately, I don't have any of those books. Might be something to keep an eye out on at yard sales though.

The Teitelbaum books are all on Amazon. However, that Sonic 3 special edition one, Up Against the Wall, looks to be very hard to find. I honestly didn't even know it existed.

Oh, I also got Secret Admirer.

In a bit of coincidental irony, I was checking Indigo bookstore's online book stock of Sonic stuff. They didn't have them before, but a number of books in that list in the first post are now available online, including the activity book. :psyduck:

Gah, I had all of the game books and stuff as a kid, but sold them at some point. Only ones I have left are the Where's Sonic one, a gamebook based on Sonic 2 with various number puzzles or board games in each zone, and a few yearbooks that were reminiscent of STC, but seemingly outside of the regular continuity.

I had the first two gamebooks at one stage. I was going to rewrite/copy them into text adventures at one stage but never got around to it.

Fuck yeah, Metal City Madness Adventure Book. Shit was SO cash.

I have a few books with various activities in them, such as finding your way around a maze of rings, or spotting Tails in amongst loads of similar looking animals/objects. I can't see it on there, though.
