This. I love that Riders outfit. It's a really fresh change between all those furry with dresses. The Warrior Feather could be a cool feature, as long as it's subtle.

But then we'd have the problem of two Amys existing in the same timeline. Unless she somehow found a way to remove her past self, but that just raises further questions

And how is that a problem? As long as they don't meet each other... (which is easy considering that she could have just stayed on Earth after time travelling)

That still doesn't explain how Sonic aged backwards.

The theory of relativity states that time slows down the closer you get to lightspeed, stopping at that point. If you can go FASTER, you start going backwards in time.

Maybe he's just a lot faster than we thought ;P

In Sonic Adventure, he and Knuckles switched ages. He was 16, now he's 15.

Wait, what? Last time I checked, Sonic was officially described as being 14 before the 3D-games and Knuckles being 15. :psyduck:

EDIT: Wait, Sonic was given an age-ESTIMATE of 15~16, Knuckles was established as 15 before that.

The wiki says that they switched on Knuckles' article, so I thought that meant Sonic was 16. I could've looked at a manual, I suppose.
Edit: well, it's not in the manuals. Why did they give Knuckles a page, when Sonic and Tails got a paragraph?

I thought that the age switch was in Sonic Heroes (where for some reason the ages of almost everybody were changed in a completely arbitrary sense :psyduck:).

Sonic Heroes had character ages listed right in the game's instruction booklet (though ages of characters like Shadow are listed as unknown). I don't recall any other listings in the games or manuals in recent memory.

Sonic 3's Manual had ages, fav foods, and hobbies IIRC. Don't beleive me? Check in Mega Collection.

For Knuckles only. Sonic and Tails were never really explained aside from "there's this guy, and he's fast" or "Sonic has a friend that can Spindash too". Unless you're talking about manuals other than the US ones. I just reread S1, S3 and S&K's manuals.

  15. And this is why adding a story to a series of games that doesn't need one doesn't work. Look at you guys: time travel, two copies of Amy... COME ON! You all know there simply isn't any explanation to all of this. The Sonic universe was never supposed to have an actual story connecting everything, it just does because all the other "cool games" do.

Sonic Heroes took the ages from Sonic X, but made a typo in Rouge's age.

These ages later appeared on Sonic Channel and became the official ages for the characters.

Also, Sonic is now 3'3" and Amy is 3'1" IIRC.

Funny, I was always under the impression that Sonic 2, 3 and Knuckles were part of one story-arc, given the "Death Egg Saga" thingy there.
Aside that, the story's cool in 'em games and story-speculation is fun. :colbert:

I'm going to dig out another Sonic X image here, for comparison:

If they are using Sonic's quill height in their measurements, then this image makes sense. Their heads, overall, are the same height (Amy and Sonic rather), but it is the quills that add the height.

Oh come on, they're not even drawn well or with proper porportions. Are you really going to use Sonic X?

Yeah, things in Sonic X are drawn off-model far too often for me to want to use it to judge.
