It is? Well I'll be. Sorry Emerald. Hey, I was thinking, maybe we should go all out on the SS. I mean, the art style currently being used was defined in the update as something like "bring the artwork up to today's standards," and well, anything but a stellar SS would be sub par with today's 3-D. That is, if you were up to it, Synergy.
It would help if someone could rip the original tiles so we could see the whole background. Has anyone even done that? I've just checked the database and it's been changed with no link to the special stage art.
Yeah, we've been messing with it. Not that it matters since we never had any special stage art on there to begin with.
I've updated the screenshot I originally posted, but I'll put it here anyway. It tiles horizontally and vertically from this.
Just, well BECAUSE. I know you're gonna hate it, but here's my 1 hour remake of the background. Of course, it's been photo-bucket-raped, but that shouldn't matter. And Drex, before you say anything, I just like the starry night idea. Kinda a space-time warp concept I have in my head, like Rainbow Road off the gamecube MarioCart.
My only hate is that in this it's lost it's psychedelic look the original had. Plus there just seems to be far too many stars necessary that they drown out the rest of the background. I also think it would be great to have stars twinkle or shooting stars going across the background, maybe animated with comet tails and have a galaxy or two thrown in there. But what I would really love to see is real constellations. Maybe use the northern hemisphere and use Orion's belt as some kind of focal point. Here is a real star chart of constellations with Orion pointed out by the red lines. There are load of other, dimmer stars that are missing but these are the ones that are used for the constellations.
I'll fix it. Just some opacity changes between the many layers of my project. EDIT: Shapes more defined: And hey, if you really want the constellations, email me an image with those that you want. And one more thing... MarioCart Transformation 80% complete!
