Thanks! This is exactly what I was thinking of! This should probably be on the Wiki too, being the only DOS fangame. (as far as I know) It wouldnt suprise me if it was released in 1996, it feels very old. (But better than most early fangames)

I was wondering that myself! ITT we find things that were thought lost to the ages. Now if we could just find Sonic Clock...

That MK looks nothing like the MK we know, though. Has anyone else ever thought of another metal character before Sonic R?

Oh my god, I remember these fangames. I distinctly remember coming across them back in 1999 or 2000... The Search For Knuckles was AMAZING.

I wish there was just a backup of SFGHQ circa 2000 or something. There is the "hall of mis-fame" section on current SFGHQ, which has a few ancient things, but still...

Only goes back to 2002, and the games themselves aren't archived.

Those archiving things are notorious for archiving everything except the important files. As if they had an algorithm dedicated to determine what files are important in order to exclude them or something >_>

Good god, just what are those sprites based on? Sonic looks totally retarded.

There's crappy drawing, and there's terrible drawing with a godawful pose.

Hahaha. I remember all of these fan games. Back in the days I had a shit ton of fan games. Ooooh the fun I had with them. Wouldn't mind seeing some of them pop-up again.

  11. Time to get Time Attacked!

This is probably one of the best Sonic fan games of all time. Sexy sprites, very addictive, and great music. Worth a look if you haven't already. :eng101:

BTW, that Sonic Boom was crap. I saw one w/ better sprites, but IDK where. They had a Rotor Boom. Same game, but w/ Rotor O.o

But Time Attacked is nowhere near as old as the games we're looking for.

I must admit something though, it did a very good job at hiding the fact it used scripted loops. Unless you were paying attention specifically to that detail, you would never notice that they're scripted. Sonic retains his speed quite well and you can even control him while he's going through the scripted path (e.g. you can jump off and fall away from the loop).

  13. Would these be old enough?

...Just what is Rotor. A fancharacter?

Also, Time Attacked, I remember playing that. The physics were off and the storyline highly unlikely. Robotnik killing Tails? Oh, AS IF.

Rotor is one of the freedom fighters from SatAM.

  16. I actually found a downloadable version of Sonic Boom! and put it on the wiki!

The menu's are in a different language, but it is the same game.

Also added Rotor Boom, Klik & Play Collection, and Sonic Robo Blast!

  17. Too bad I never got to play these games back then, they look cool. Around the mid 90's, I was more into Super Mario and I remember playing a bunch of old fan made Mario games.

Can't this be fixed by editing the resource file? The problem though being that it's a 16-bit program and thereby Resource Hacker is unable to open it. We need to find something else... Does anybody know if Borland had made a tool for editing resources in an EXE? XD
