    But applying the original Japanese version's mouthflaps (which actually sync to the Japanese audio, as opposed to the International version and all later versions of the game, which sync to… nothing at all, awkwardly) would qualify as a fix.

    I think you're missing the point — '#BringBackSonic3' doesn't tell them any of that! You have to convince SEGA that it's cool with you if the remaster's missing some of the music, not Gene. Maybe wait for Gene to make his post later tonight or something. As-is, they'd probably still think 'it's not worth green-lighting this since we'd have to change the music, and most people probably wouldn't buy the game that way' — they have to see that's not the case!
