Daft question about Robotnik.
26 October 2010 - 02:03 PM
One thing is puzzling me as I play the boss of Emerald Hill Zone right now;
Why on earth does he need rotor blades when his Egg-o-matic can fly and hover perfectly well without them? :/ -
The strangest Sonic 3 Bug I've ever pulled.
11 February 2006 - 03:22 PM
I have no idea whatsoever what I did to cause this one - I simply opened up Sonic 3 - got into the level select and selected the Special Stage.
I did manage to catch it on video though so take a look;

Edit: Thinking about it actualy, is this the scrolling through special stage levels thing I seam to remember reading about once? -
Sonic CD / Sonic Adventure
01 February 2006 - 08:15 AM
As I'm sure most people know, the invinceability theme from Sonic Adventure / DX sounds strangely like "Toot Toot Sonic Warrior" from the Sonic CD Jap soundtrack. However I've noticed the "Speed up theme" from Sonic Adventure / DX also has a Sonic CD connection, albeit a less obvious one;

I converted the speedup BGM from Sonic Adventure DX to MP3 (keeping the timing perfectly correct) and then replaced the title screen track in Sonic CD to see what would happen. Now it could be me, but it seams to fit a little *too* well for my taste :P
Perhaps it's a really wild coincidence, or, maybe, Sonic Adventure is littered with flashbacks to Sonic CD. Afterall Sonic Adventure was the first main Sonic game to be released on CD after Sonic CD. This may be another Sonic Team "easter egg". Or like I say it could be coincidence. Freaky though :P -
I found some old commercials.

I found some old Sonic 2 TV commersials while digging about the internet.
I don't know if anyone has seen these before, I guess somebody probably has but I can't seam to find any discussion on them on these boards so I figured I would share these videos here just incase someone didn't know of them or wants to discuss them.

This is probably the coolest thing I have ever seen, ever. It's like a really nice looking render of Emerald Hill and Chemical Plant in 3D and it also has beta footage in it, with some really mad "SEGA" screen at the end that I can't tell if its entirely in-game or not>

This is a US advert I am sure everyone has probably seen but like I say, I found it and haven't seen it mentioned here so here it is. It has the beta title screen with the menu options on it (cut off though, saddly) as well as lots of other beta type footage.

I'm just posting this one for comedy reasons but it still might be intresting :P -
Odd thing in Flying Battery
07 January 2006 - 12:32 AM
I was messing about in Sonic 3 & K in debug mode. Anyway, I placed about 50 "S" monitors and sonic stopped responding. When I pressed "A" the game restarted but into Sonic and Knuckles rather than S3&K (This has been known to happen though I think, right?)
Anyway debug was still enabled so I went playing in Flying Battery. When I got to Act 2 I moved sonic using debug back behind the start of the level. Then all of a sudden the game started scrolling right like crazy (seen that happen before too) but this time I actualy managed to land someplace rather than die. When I did though there was some really strange glitched graphic scrolling upwards on the background (that was now black and blue);
Once I'd ended up at the boss, oddly, Sonic ended up invisable;
And the glitched up 'sky' was still there.
I'm sure this has probably happened to someone before, but I'm just wondering what that's about? It seams like really strange behavour to me.
