This "beta" looks very impressive on video, fake or not. Not being technically minded I would personally not be able to spot it's fake immediately, but I do share several concerns with the way these demo videos are being played. Does kinda seem like the guy is trying too hard to stay in one small area, do certain things that normal people wouldn't do unless they where trying too hard to make it look different.

Naka's quote seems a bit ambiguous, although the comment about object placement seems to infer he either doubts or does not entirely believe this to be legitimate. Unless more substantial proof emerges I can't make a decision. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but if people are in true possession of something like this but are unwilling to share every detail, then they shouldn't reveal that they have it at all. At the end of the day, the guy IS trolling, fake or not.

I love this game, but, it's way too short. Way, way too short.

I've 100% completed this game now, I'm just missing two achievements, to restore Green Hill and Seaside Hill - weird thing is, I've done both. Somehow the game glitch-ed on both and didn't award me the achievements, meaning I need to start all over again if I want to get these two.

You'd think the game would be intelligent enough to realize that if I've unlocked all collectibles then I must have restored all the levels, but I guess that's a big ask. Starting from the beginning isn't my idea of re-playability. It's a bit of a shame, to me Colors just seemed to have far more replay value (more stages, red rings, Sonic Simulator) even without achievement hunting. :(

Because that's what can happen in worlds where you find gravity defying platforms and talking animals. Some things are just the way they are.

Granted, but there's a subtle difference in that the idea of his Egg-o-Matic is inplausable in the same respect gravity defying platforms and talking animals are, but to attach helicopter blades to something that has not only been established as able to fly without them anyway - but does so later in the same game - just seems rather bizarre however you slice it.

it's a very good 2D platformer and I think many people are being harsh on it because of its association with the classic games.

If it's not going to reach the same standard, then it shouldn't associate itself with the classic games in the first place; in other words, it's called Sonic 4, so it should be judged as such.

That basically means you take Sonic 3, see how that won life, then play this and realise that, while it's okay in of itself, it's pale in comparison.

I have to admit, I'm fine with the music as it is, it's catchy and I like it. The only thing I don't like about this game is the physics, which are fundamentally broken, and that makes the game broken.

It's so fucking annoying and such a crying shame to me personally because, that one thing which has been done very badly has dragged an otherwise excellent title down with it, I don't find the need to fault anything else except the weird way this game plays. I've been playing for hours now and I just can't get used to it. I can put up with it, if I wanted to I could go into denial and try to ignore it, but ultimately, it's always there, niggling at my mind. It just isn't right, and it takes away from what the first 3 games were, largely a pleasure to play.
