  1. Unusual HDD issues

    03 January 2015 - 02:10 PM

So, long story short. My HDD is acting strange. It's an internal HDD in an external enclosure. Basically, Some of my files I can't even see on the drive anymore. I can open a few files, and others seem corrupted. Opening them in a hex editor shows that data has shifted. I have bits of movies in image files, bits of image files in movies, it's just a scrambled mess. I've ran chkdsk, file/partition recovery software, I've even tried Spinrite but that freaks out as the drive is 1 TB. SMART is fine, chkdsk is fine, I don't know what to do...

Is there anything I can do to repair or recover some of these files? It's pretty much a full terabyte of data, and losing all of it would be unfavourable to say the least.

    tl;dr, help.
  2. Dreamcast Collection Oddity? (X360)

    28 June 2013 - 01:23 PM

As you all know the 360 has the option to install your disc games onto the HDD. What's supposed to happen is once it sees that the disc is the game you want to play, it reads the header, and then plays the game off of the HDD. This works fine and dandy for every single 360 game I have or have ever played. However, with Dreamcast Collection, it doesn't. I can install the game, but it plays like I never installed it. Everything runs off of disc. So my first question is, has anyone managed to get this thing to run off of HDD?

The second oddity I find is that sometimes when you install the game, you get this error when the game boots up to the game selection screen:

    Return Value 1
Enumerate Content Names: Couldn't Get Device ID for ODD.

I haven't figured out the exact cause, but, it doesn't let you select a game. You can hit A or B to get rid of the prompt, move your curser and have the BG and music change, but once you select a game (for example, Sonic Adventure), it plays the sound effect, (Again, for Sonic Adventure, Sonic's "Let's get 'em!") and then just sits there.

I'm assuming the two errors are related, but has there been any work around for either, or both errors?
  3. Looking for something...

    16 June 2012 - 10:01 PM

Didn't someone release S3K's tracks for Sonic 1's driver somewhere sometime? I'd like to use them as placeholders and maybe tinker around with some, haven't decided yet. I could port all of them but I thought I'd ask first :P
  4. Whatever happened to that E3 Sonic '06 Demo?

No, seriously, I'm willing to fork out some cash for this. Anyone know where the guy went or what happened to the demo?
  5. Anyone remember...?

    14 January 2012 - 12:15 AM

Anyone remember RealOne Arcade? This was back when Real Player was known as Real One player—They had an Arcade downloadable app, that let you download and play games. This was actually where I first stumbled upon Sonic The Hedgehog 2, I remember them having S1, S2, S3, SK and Sonic Spinball all as games that you could buy. One thing that I distinctly remember about these was that all music and SFX generated were an octave higher than their Genesis counterparts. Anyone else share any memories? There isn't mention of this on the wiki; it's as if RealOne Arcade vanished off the face of the planet :S. This would have been around 2002-2003.
