The Sonic 3, 20th Anniversary & Knuckles Thread
18 October 2014 - 08:24 AM
So it's S3k's 20th year of being Classic Sonic's magnum opus. It's not much, but Stealth & I thought fit to celebrate:

Stealth has also written an in depth blog post detailing the technical elements of Sonic 3k, and how we approached this.

I'll continue to parrot this to make sure it's clear: this isn't an official announcement of any Sega project, nor to we intend to work on this as a fan-project. It's simply a proof of concept from our vaults that has been kept to our chests for some time.

The Return of Sonic XG?
04 December 2012 - 12:22 PM
Ok, so let's face it... my days producing fan games are well and truly over. But interestingly enough, I just found out that Joseph Waters (Nitemare) who originally worked with Euan has taken it upon himself to reboot the pre-merger(s) Multimedia Fusion version of the game:
I don't know if this is already known but since XG has a bit of a following here and AFAIK Joseph isn't on Retro I thought I'd post it. I don't have anything to do with this, but kudos to Joseph for keeping a promise I can't

It's time to drop a little bomb
28 July 2009 - 12:24 AM
Hey gang, I wasn't going to make this public for a little while, but given SEGA's latest blog post, and their upcoming discussions on wednesday it's time for some guerilla marketing!
The question is, do YOU want it? This is more than just one of their emulator ports, we're talking iPhone exclusive enhancements and features (I've got some cool plans)

Sonic 1 released for iPhone - or should I say emu + rom :P
21 May 2009 - 12:35 AM
Yep, it's out. http://toucharcade.com/
It's 100% emulated. I looked inside the app archive, and it contains a file called "rom.bin". Tested it in Kega Fusion and low and behold it ran no worries XD.
Emulation performance is nothing to write home about. It runs at 30fps, with ok but not accurate sound.
Anyone who's got a jailbroken phone could most likely insert different roms and play them too :P -
"Gameloft will release SONIC UNLEASHED on mobile phones"

Interesting...

Maybe SEGA scrapped the iPhone port of Sonic 1 and went with this instead.
