  1. Portal + gamepad = ...no cursor?

    13 January 2012 - 02:39 PM

Greetings all, I've been having an ongoing brainfart.

I bought a Logitech F310 gamepad a few months back. It works fine, every game automatically maps to the correct 360-style layout, etc.

After finally going into the config file for Portal and tweaking the joystick sensitivity to something I'm comfortable with, I completely forgot why haven't been playing Portal with a gamepad much anyway: When playing Portal with the gamepad, the blue/orange 'cursor' (what's the correct word again?) in the middle of the screen disappears. I'm not sure why. I have a feeling there's an obvious/simple fix I'm not thinking of. Looking into the configuration options hasn't revealed any obvious checkboxes to look for that I can think of.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance. Much appreciated as usual.

EDIT: Dammit, sure enough, I found a solution after posting this. Go figure. Welp, nevermind then.
  2. Booting Windows 7 w/o intervening

    10 December 2011 - 04:52 PM

    Greetings all,

I've got an issue regarding booting up into Windows 7. Until a few days ago it was fine, booted up within a few minutes.

Now suddenly after the W7 logo forms, it just sits there. I hold the power button to force-shut it down, then restart it and quickly press F12 to enter an options screen of sorts, or it will automatically recognize that I force-shut it off and recommend that I run Startup Repair. Eventually I get to Startup Repair and come to the option of using a Restore Point. Curiously botting using the most recent Restore Point listed will also just sit there, but after checking off "show all Restore Points" I can get to W7 using the second most recent Point.

Later I'll shut down using Start > Shut Down and it'll power off fine -- But then upon powering back up I just start the whole loop over again.

I tried a Google search, but I can't think of anything more specific than "Windows 7/startup/bootup/hang" :specialed: ... so not much luck yet.

I guess I'm looking to see if anyone might at least know what the issue is, what I can do about it, etc.

If any more info is needed, please ask away.

Oddly enough, I believe this was after I tried doing a defrag; speed is basically fine, I did it moreso for the sake of doing it.

Thanks in advance for the assistance everyone. It's much appreciated.
  3. "Journey to Eggmanland" on Y! Japan Auctions

    16 December 2010 - 11:07 PM

I was digging through Yahoo! Japan Auctions for kicks, and came across the first OVA VHS tape, with decent pics of the tape itself as well as the front and back covers. I figured I'd link it here on the off-chance someone here wants to snatch it up. And if not, hey, we've finally got a shot of the back cover. v.png

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post, etc. Please move if needed. Just thought this was kinda neat.

  5. Prototype of Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition... for Genesis?

    24 October 2010 - 10:03 PM

So, the user claims it's a Genesis prototype version of the SNES exclusive "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition". It should not be confused with the first Genesis MMPR game, which was also a fighter (a rather crappy one, that I admittedly enjoyed digging through the protos of for childhood's sake).

Supposedly it's cell phone footage. Claims to be the only one.

If anyone wants to take a crack at debunking it, I'm all ears. I'm not terribly great at debunking video, especially with cell phone quality. Interested in your thoughts.
