However, there's one thing I've been wondering about. What happens if the player doesn't aim the laser at something reflective? does Sonic simply shoot off? If so, that would be an interesting thing to mess around with...
If by "not reflective," you mean "not the crystals," then Sonic bounces all over the place, but angles apply. If he doesn't hit ANYTHING, he just flies off in a straight line.
Sounds like that could potentially be abused to reach even farther distances! Then again, the crystals do seem to send you pretty far already. -

While I can't say that I agreed with everything you said in your reviews of SA and SA2, in this case, I agree pretty much 100% with you. Also, I do think that your reviewing... hmm... "style", I guess, has got better. -

Riders 1 was pretty fun though, while Zero Gravity was horrible. Honestly I think I'm okay with this game as long as it isn't advertised like crazy. At least they removed the superstretchy character designs.
Seriously?
I thought ZG was superior to Riders in every way except the removal of the turbulence wakes and maybe a couple of sub-par level designs.
What was it about ZG you thought was sufficiently worse than normal Riders to brand the whole game as "horrible"?
The turbulence was really the only retaining feature Sonic Riders even had in my eyes, along with the awesome stunt system.
Turbulence was cool at first, but once you realize that it's really just scripted paths and you're unable to go where you want because you get stuck in them, it's suddenly not so cool anymore. Gravity control in ZG, which filled a similar role, was a lot better to me. -
